As the Antigo Wrestling Club puts the finishing touches on a successful 2025-2026 season, we would like to take a moment to thank some of our sponsors that made this program possible.

As we look forward to the 2026-2027 season, we are starting the process of locking in our sponsors for the upcoming season.

Attached are the levels for the upcoming season. Please reach out to us via Facebook Messenger or contact Jason Hohensee at 715-216-6976 to reserve your spot. Space on the back of the youth T-shirt is limited, and spots are first come, first serve.

Our youth program had over 120 participants last season, and if early interest is any indication, will be even larger this upcoming season. The tentative youth sign up evening will be November 5th. We will make an informative post in mid-October once most of the details are ironed out.

Antigo Wrestling families. We are looking for volunteers to help direct cars parking and other tasks at the Wolfman on September 11 & 12. The sign up link is below. You can also message us if you have questions. The Wolfman organization gives back to the club for our time volunteered. This is a great way to support our community and the club. It’s also fun to cheer on the athletes who come from all over to participate.

Greco has started at USA Wrestling Nationals!

Joseph Stimac earned a comeback victory over Elijah Wilson of South Carolina with a 4-point throw with 18nseconds remaining to cap off a 19-18 victory. With 37 points over 6 minutes, the match was nonstop action. Full write ups on Fargo will come next week.

Release from the Antigo Athletic Department:

On Monday evening, Antigo Athletics celebrated the accomplishments of senior Olivia Hofrichter as she officially committed to continue both her academic and wrestling career at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point.

Family, coaches, and Athletic Director Tom Schofield gathered to recognize Hofrichter's outstanding achievements and the impact she has had on the Antigo wrestling program. Olivia will join the UW–Stevens Point Women's Wrestling program while pursuing a degree in Business beginning in the 2026-27 academic year.

During the signing ceremony, Hofrichter reflected on what inspired her to continue wrestling at the collegiate level.

"I've always loved wrestling, and I know there are younger wrestlers watching," Hofrichter said. "I hope that by competing in college, I can show younger athletes, especially girls, that there are opportunities to continue wrestling beyond high school."

Throughout her high school career, Hofrichter established herself as one of Wisconsin's top girls wrestlers. Her accomplishments include winning the 2025 WIAA Girls Individual State Championship and earning a state placewinner finish in 2026. Beyond her success on the mat, she has been a role model for younger wrestlers and an ambassador for the continued growth of girls wrestling in Wisconsin.

When asked about the lessons wrestling has taught her, Hofrichter pointed to the resilience the sport demands.

"Wrestling has made me a stronger person," she said. "It has taught me how to handle adversity, work through challenges, and keep going even when things are difficult. The hardest part is showing up some days, but if you keep going, you'll be grateful for everything the sport teaches you."

Hofrichter is excited to continue balancing academics and athletics at the collegiate level.

"I'm excited to earn my business degree and continue wrestling at the next level," she said. "I've always balanced school, work, and wrestling, so I'm looking forward to the opportunities and challenges that college will bring."

As she prepares for her next chapter, Hofrichter expressed appreciation for those who helped her reach this milestone.

"My sister inspired many of my goals when I was younger, and my coaches have pushed me to become a better wrestler and person every day," she said. "I also want to thank my parents, siblings, teammates, youth wrestlers, and the entire Antigo community. The support I've received has meant so much."

Antigo Athletics congratulates Olivia on her tremendous accomplishments and wishes her continued success as she begins her collegiate wrestling career with the Pointers.

Ronn Elliott, Brian Edwards Nephew, designed these shirts in honor of his Uncle Brian, who tragically lost his life last week. Brian helped mentor and coach members of the Antigo Wrestling Club for roughly 40 years.

$5 of each garment goes to the Antigo Wrestling Club in his honor.
