Antigo High School Baseball to Host Teacher Appreciation Game on May 9, 2023
Behind a great student-athlete is a great mentor. On Tuesday, May 9, 2023 the Antigo Varsity baseball players will ensure their teachers know what an important role they play.
Teacher Appreciation Week (May 8 through May 13) is a week-long celebration and Antigo High School Baseball has selected their contest vs. Tomahawk on May 9, 2023 to host a Teacher Appreciation Game.
“The teachers in our district continue to go above and beyond to not only meet the needs of our students, but also to create opportunities for our students to be successful.” states Head Coach Tyler Lorenz. “Teachers have a large impact on our students and they are not recognized nearly enough for the efforts in giving so much of themselves to our district and community.” The Teacher Appreciation Game is a great time to learn about the contributions educators make to our community every day.
Each player will be asking a teacher to attend the Greater Northern Conference matchup against Tomahawk on May 9, 2023 and es**rt them onto the field for the national anthem. During this time they will be saying a few words to show their appreciation for being so influential in their lives. This is also an opportunity for community members to show their support and appreciation as well.
First pitch is scheduled for 5:00 pm following the national anthem.
*Mrs Mattek, Mr Rogers, and Mr Meronk will be throwing out the first pitches of the game.*
