Hot weather and dusty bedding are a rough combination.

One simple thing you can do is switch to low-dust bedding. It helps cut down on the particles in the air, which keeps the stable feeling cleaner and a lot easier on your horse’s lungs. This is particularly important when horses are already dealing with travel, heat, and the stress of competition.

FEI Stabling setups are designed to support better airflow and cleaner, more comfortable conditions overall. Our goal is to help you keep your horse settled and breathing easy. Call us today.

If your stables end up sitting in full sun all day, you’ll feel it pretty quickly – and so will the horses inside.

That’s why it’s so important that you don’t settle on the first bit of flat ground you find and call it done. Take a minute to figure out where the sun’s going to sit during the day (and how that space is going to feel a few hours later!).

If you can, put them up in a space with natural shade or at least avoid that full sun exposure.

FEI Stabling is designed with airflow in mind, helping you keep conditions as cool and comfortable as possible for your horses throughout the day.

On hotter show days, natural airflow might not be enough once the temperature rises and the air starts to sit still.

Where they’re allowed, fans can help keep air moving through the stables, which reduces that heavy, stagnant feeling and supports better comfort for horses during downtime between classes.

Always follow event rules and safety guidance, but when used correctly, fans can be a simple way to take the edge off heat build-up.

Temporary stables can heat up fast when airflow is restricted.

Where possible, position stables so air can move through the space instead of being blocked at every side.

Open panels where it makes sense, and avoid creating dead air pockets where heat builds up.

Your horses will feel the difference almost instantly (and you will, too!).

When horses are travelling and competing, hydration can be easy to overlook once the day gets busy.

But fresh, clean water helps support cooling and recovery, especially between classes when horses are coming down from work and getting ready for the next round.

Topping up buckets regularly and keeping water easy to access can make a noticeable difference over a long show day.

If you’re planning event stabling and want a setup that supports horse welfare properly, FEI Stabling can help.

You can usually tell pretty quickly when a stabling provider isn’t going to make your life easy – and it’s almost never the big dramatic issues. It’s the little things that just feel off from the start.

A few warning signs worth trusting your gut on:

🚩 You’re chasing them for basic answers (and still not getting straight ones)
🚩 Everything sounds vague (they’ve got a: “we’ll sort it on the day” kind of attitude)
🚩 The kit doesn’t look consistent or properly maintained
🚩 Prices are thrown out fast, but details are slow to follow
🚩 No proof they’ve handled events like yours before
🚩 You’re doing all the organizing, even though you’re the client

At that point, it stops being about stables and starts being about stress you didn’t need.

Good providers don’t make you work that hard. You ask a question, you get a clear answer. You book it, and you don’t have to think about it again.

That’s the standard you want – and why people stick with experienced teams like FEI Stabling when it really matters.

From the outside, it just looks like rows of stables, all lined up and ready to go. What you don’t see is everything that happens before the first horse even arrives.

We’re talking about:

✅ Trucks arriving and unloading large volumes of equipment
✅ Full stable blocks being built from scratch on-site
✅ Making sure everything is level and safe for the horses
✅ Planning layouts so people and horses can move around easily
✅ Working to tight timelines before the event kicks off
✅ Adjusting for weather and ground conditions.

If you’re planning an event and want to make sure your stabling is right for event day, FEI is happy to help. Give us a call!

A poor stabling setup is one of those things that can really put a damper on your horse show experience.

Think about it: once you’re on-site, your horse is living out of that space for 3-days. If it’s not set up right, it’ll be obvious in their mood, their actions, and honestly, your own headspace too.

A few things that are a huge help:

✅ Set up your temporary stable as close as possible to what your horse is used to at home
✅ Get there early so you’re not rushing and your horse has time to settle in
✅ Bring more bedding and feed than you think you’ll need (you’ll almost always use it)
✅ Don’t forget any of the small things you rely on (haynets, hooks, water buckets, etc)

And when the stabling itself is clean and properly assembled (like FEI Stabling setups), it takes a big chunk of the pressure off before you’ve even tacked up.

Horse shows are so much fun! But if we’re being completely real, there’s usually one little thing that can be a bit of a headache.
What’s your biggest frustration at horse shows?

1️⃣ Long setup times
2️⃣ Not enough stable space
3️⃣ Weather causing chaos
4️⃣ Crowded layouts and limited room

Every rider, organizer, and facility has their own pain points, so we’re curious to see what tops the list for you.
