FIRST CLASS. FIRST BACK HANDSPRING!💥
First-day breakthroughs are becoming a little bit of a pattern at KG Athletics. 🤓
We’ve had athletes walk in for their first class and learn a new skill, break through a mental block, or finally move past something they’ve felt stuck on.
Because good coaching isn’t just knowing a list of progressions.
It’s knowing and learning the athlete in front of you.
Every athlete’s body is different. Some athletes have incredible flexibility and naturally progress through walkovers. Others may never have that same range of motion, but have the power, body tension, and explosiveness to excel at handsprings and tucks.
They don’t all need to learn the same skills in the same order.
That’s where a trained eye matters.
It’s being able to recognize what an athlete’s body can do, understand what may be limiting them, play to their strengths, and choose progressions that make sense for them — instead of keeping them inside a box because they haven’t checked every skill off a predetermined list.
Sometimes the breakthrough is learning something new.
Sometimes it’s overcoming fear.
And sometimes it’s simply being given permission to try something new.
First class. First back handspring.
Welcome to KG Athletics, Johari! 💪🏽
