What looks like a simple moment is actually a powerful learning opportunity.
As athletes earn chips throughout class, they’re developing much more than gymnastics skills. Counting, adding, goal setting, delayed gratification, problem-solving, and personal responsibility are all being practiced in real time.
Sports create natural opportunities for children to build cognitive skills while staying engaged and having fun. Brielle was so excited to count her chips at the end of class, but what I love most is watching the confidence that comes from understanding that effort leads to progress.
Life skills don’t have to be taught from a desk. Sometimes they’re learned through sport, one repetition and one chip at a time.
