Race #6 at Tannehill Historical State Park. This was the second time to race at this venue, but a different set of trails. The temps cooled off and the weather was perfect for racing!
Our team may be small, but we pack a punch! Three of our five high school riders placed on the Championship podium again this year! Jacob McLendon 1st place State Champion for Freshmen. Noah McLendon- 5th place JV1 and Aidan Mills- 5th place JV2.
Sixth grader Nora Jae Mitchell placed 5th in this race and was in 6th place for the state championship. I’m so proud of all of our riders. And can’t wait for next year. More great things are in store.

And Race #5 this weekend at Noccalula Falls Park. A beautiful venue with great trails that everyone agreed were the hardest yet! It rained a bit but that didn’t affect the riding conditions. Aidan Mills made an incredible leap to first place this week. His first time to podium ever!
Podium finishes:High School

Noah McLendon- 5th place JV1
Isabel Lackey came in 13th Freshman girls.
Middle school: Nora Mitchell came in 7th place for 6th grade girls.

Let me play catch up. Race #4 at Munny Sokol Park in Tuscaloosa. This course is not a favorite of most. The trail is Very tight and twisty with roots throughout! This was the second course we could not pre-ride due to the inconvenient distance. But the kids tackled it and handled it well.
Podium finishes: High School
Jacob McLendon-1st Place Freshman
Noah McLendon- 4th place JV1
Aidan Mills gained several places this race to finish 6th in JV2. Isabel Lackey finished 12th in Freshman.
For Middle School, Nora Mitchel placed 8th and Ava Robinson placed 9th.

Race #3 at McClellan our home turf! Perfect racing conditions and the trails were in tiptop conditions. Jacob McLendon took 1st place for Freshman and had the fastest first and second lap times of the weekend again! Noah McLendon came in 4th for JV1. Aidan Mills JV2, moved up several spots to 8th this race. Walter Jordan finished 14th for Varsity and Isabel Lackey came in 14th for Freshman girls.
Middle school riders came in strong this race also. Nora Jae Mitchell placed 7th and Ava Robinson places 8th for Sixth grade. And Shrey Panchal improved his lap time by several minutes!

For middle school, sixth grade Nora Mitchell came in 4th place. Her first podium placement!
For high school, Freshman Jacob McLendon took 1st place by over 3 minutes. Noah McLendon came in 4th place for JV1. Donoho as a team was 4th place again in Division 2!

Race season is back in business and we had a fantastic first race in Pensacola this weekend! We have 5 returning riders with 3 new sixth graders this year.
Podium placers race #1:
Jacob McLendon- 2nd place Freshmen
Noah McLendon- 5th place JV1
Our team also place 4th in Division 2.
Other notable finishers:
Walter Jordan-8th in Varsity
Aidan Mills- 12th in JV2
Isabel Lackey-12th Freshman

Race #5 at Tannehill for the State Championship race. It was a doozy! It rained on Friday, some of the trails were a mud fest and then sun came out in force on Sunday, bringing the heat with it! Flat tires were a common denominator for the high school races. Affecting both Noah and Walter, derailing their goals. But both boys pushed through and crossed the finish line ON their bikes. Walter Jordan took home the State Champion title again this year for JV1 and Noah McLendon came in Second place State Champion for Freshman. Jacob McLendon also had a great season finish. Coming in third place State Champion for 8th grade. Valentin Obermaier graduates this year. He has raced 7 years for the Donoho team. It’s not going to be the same without an Obermaier around! Your family will be missed!
