Jr Honda cup night meant all Jr Honda drivers got a special driver introduction with a walk out song. Jameson wanted his favorite song since he was a baby.

Yesterday was a full day, and man we were tired. Thanks to the Highley’s for taking our animal car to have surgery after last weekend’s wrecks. We got to the race track nice and early to try and put it back together before the races started. A bit of paint, and A LOT of grunt work, and the car was built, measured, and scaled all before sign ins. Extra thanks to Uncle Thomas for helping put it together and Gaga (Grandma Jo) for keeping an eye on the kids, and keeping them out of the way.

Last night was Jr Honda cup night, so we made sure Jameson knew that the top 3 finishers would get a special cup trophy. It also meant extra laps for both the heat race and feature. He also had great pill draws, which put him in great starting spots. Jameson started on the pole in the Jr Honda heat race, and lead almost the entire thing. But coming to get the green flag, he hit the breaker (which was higher than normal), which had him going into the wall. He didn’t give up though, and still ended up with a good finish. For all the races, he was super fast. We just need to fine tune the car a little bit and keep working on his line. But his first win is coming, I can feel it.

Jr Honda:
Heat: started 1 (of 6), finished 🥉
Feature: started 3, finished 🥉

Jr Animal:
Heat: started 3 (of 5), finished 🥈
Feature: started 2, finished 4️⃣

Next week is no racing, and the family will be going to the beach. We won’t be back at the race track until our next local race at ALQMA on June 20th.
