❄️ Winter 2025–2026 Snowfall Prediction for the Northeast U.S.

NOAA Climate Prediction Center (CPC), is the Official U.S. government forecast organization. Using ENSO modeling, sea surface temperature anomalies, jet stream analysis, they predict what kind of winter we’re going to have. 

The Northeast is expected to experience near-average to slightly above-average snowfall for the 2025–2026 season, driven by a borderline ENSO-neutral to weak La Niña pattern. This setup favors:

• Frequent cold snaps and potential Nor’easters
• Snowier conditions in northern New England and higher elevations
• Variable precipitation across mid-Atlantic states, with some dry spells
