Spontaneity!

I have planned this trip a few times, but always fail to execute. Well, not this time!

Decided only 36 hrs ago I was taking a friend up on an offer to visit him in Key West, FL. So I decided yesterday, packed last night, loaded up this morning and rolled. No plan, agenda or reservations...

From Pasadena MD. to Lumderton, NC (Almost made South Carolina). Found a great spot to camp, had a nice hike, beautiful evening so far...

Haven't posted again in forever! Posting this so my kids, family and friends can follow along. Thanks for reading!

Let me say thanks to one if my longest running friendships (Wite Jacket) Ben for motivating me yesterday!

After over 15 years, many surgeries and issues, 2 businesses and 2 kids, I was finally dragged (willingly) back to a mountain . Ben reintroduced me to one of my alltime favorite passions.

How was it. Like riding a bike. Getting off the first lift, anxious. First run, exhilarating.
6hrs later and snowing, didn't want to go...

I will be back! Thanks mate, to you and your family. Great day!!!

And, to those that know... Yes, that's that's a Lib Tech Matt Cummins deck, cica 1995. 27 years, 12 very hard.... Still perfect, kinda! (ORIGINAL OWNER, N.F.S.)

Somehow the adventure and weirdness continues. I have such a thing for the octopus, amazing creatures. Anyway,, carry on good people, never stop exploring.

Final 2021 Season Update! CLOSED...

Sorry for the delay good people. We will not be opening at Quiet Waters Park or Jonas Green Park. Please read...

After 19 seasons we were hoping to make the 20th a great one. Our contract was due up in December, after several months of delays by the county, the contract was extended to another Paddlesport company who out bid us. For a number of reasons we chose not to counter the bid or appeal. We're retiring!

After 19 seasons our family has decided to go a new route. We are retiring from paddlesports professionally, but will continue to enjoy all aspects for ourselves. .

We have sold off all assets (gear) to the new group and anticipate they will continue to offer a similar wonderful experience.

We love Annapolis, the folks who supported us and all the fun Maryland rivers have to extended to us. Thank you all for 19 exceptional years. I have zillions of memories and nearly 15,000 photos to prove em'.

Seriously, thank you all and see ya on the river! Stay positive and paddle more...

Weekend Update / 2021 Season Update

We are still CLOSED!

We are ready, the park is ready,, the county is not. Sorry folks, we wish we could be there. This is not Covid related (mostly). This is a contract issue that was supposed to be settled in December. Covid delays understandably pushed it to March. Now we have no idea what's going on. All we are told is the contract is "in the evaluation stage".

We will update the minute we know more and will do our best to keep you posted.

Thank you and we are so, so sorry for the inconvenience. We sell fun and this is not fun!

For Earth Day 2021, we've decided to make it a DIY event! Join us the week of Earth Day, April 18-24th, to get out in nature and make the planet a little greener!

Contact Ranger Liz at [email protected] for a clean-up kit. Do one of three hikes mapped out by the rangers and pick up trash as you go. Take a picture of yourself and the trash you collected and post it on The Friends of Quiet Waters Park page with the hashtag .

Prizes will be given out for the most trash collected, most interesting piece of trash, and craziest spot trash was found. All kids who complete a hike and collect trash will receive a Junior Ranger Badge!

I've lived around here my whole life and I have seen dolphin pods, heard of the occasional shark in the bay and have even seen a single deer swimming before, but this is a first.

They're as ready as we are to hit the water. Come on summer!.
