Let’s give a BIG Chesapeake Bay welcome to Steve Chard! Steve is a kayaker from the UK currently in the US paddling "The Great Loop" and he just landed in Suffolk, VA for the night. His 6,000-7,500 mile epic journey is approximated here on our map. I don’t know his exact path through the Bay but it sounds like he’s coming up through Dismal Swamp, up the bay along the Western Shore and out the C&D canal to the Delaware River and beyond. There have been appeals for locals interested in supporting his journey to offer a yard, a garage, a couch, a meal, a safe place to camp or sleep. Reports from those lending a hand have said he has been nothing but kind. His journey is an effort to raise funds for charities in the U.S. and Canada. Please do what you can.
