Severn Sailing Association

Severn Sailing Association Severn Sailing Association is a member-run sailing and racing club. We feature a full season of racing plus a winter frostbiting series.

Located in Annapolis, Maryland, SSA has a half-century tradition of high-quality one-design racing. We regularly host major regional, national and international championship events. We operate an extensive Junior Program, featuring an 8-week summer program as well as spring and fall high school team sailing. SSA's facilities support dry-sailed dinghies and small keel boats, with 3 launching cranes

and protected basins, plus large staging and dry storage areas. Our clubhouse and snack bar provide an excellent venue for after-sailing activities with an unsurpassed view of the Severn River and Annapolis Harbor from the deck. Congratulations to Natalie Fuller-Coleman and Allison Coleman for winning the 2026 DS North American Championship Regatta. The 23 competitors were treated to ch*****ne conditions for 3 perfect 12-15 August southerly’s. This is the second National Championship for the Coleman sisters. In fact the top 3 boats were family teams with the daughter/father teams of Lauren Pollack and Dave Schoene in second and Mary and Brian Bush third. 6 of the top 8 boats were female skippers.

We can’t wait to see everyone this weekend, July 18-19th, for Olivia’s Team Racing Invitational. Remember to register ASAP on the SSA RecHub website—scan the QR code in the post for the registration page.

We are thrilled to report the snack bar will be open all weekend with its full food and drink menu. Come hungry because all participants will be treated to coffee, bagels, and juice both mornings and we’ve added an ice cream social to help all our competitors beat the heat on Saturday afternoon.

Although we’re still a few days out, the forecast looks promising for decent summer breeze—we hope we see you on the water!
