Sail training on the Chesapeake: had a great day providing training to a cruising sailor who wanted to build his skills and confidence. A busy day of commercial traffic near the Bay Bridge helped this skipper learn how to understand the movements and communications of large vessels, to be able to stay safely clear of them.

Sail training in Annapolis: I provided boat-handling training to the new owner of this Cal 33. The training included doing figure-8’s around a buoy, in reverse, to build the skills to confidently maneuver into a tight marina slip.

Great day on the Chesapeake yesterday. Not too hot. Saw a tall ship headed to Baltimore for Sail250, but too far away for a photo. Winds building to about 15 knots in the afternoon made for some fast sailing.
