Before he won an NCAA Championship, Anthony Robles was unstoppable.

Despite being born with one leg, Robles has proven that life is about what you can do, not what you can not do. He is an NCAA Champion, an author, a motivational speaker, and a winner of the “Jimmy V” Award for Perseverance.

Summer Strength & Skills/ Camp Week
Week four of summer strength and skills training.

Summer skills on Mon & Wed will be prior to our camp. Following camp, we will have our strength training for our high school athletes.

Camp this week is for all elementary, middle school, and incoming freshmen. Camp is from 8:30 am to 11:00 am. If you did not already sign-up, you may do so using the following link. We already ordered t-shirts, but we will do our best to make the extra sizes work out. https://forms.gle/zChhirJEpXniQrGB6

Strength training is for high school athletes only. This includes incoming freshmen. We actually prefer all incoming freshmen and those new to the program to attend both sessions so we can work on mat room and weight room technique over the summer.

The Athletic Office is closed next week.
We will resume the same schedule on 6 July.

Wrestling stands out among sports due to its unique blend of athleticism, strategy, and discipline, offering a diverse range of benefits for participants. It develops integrity, discipline, and a strong work ethic.

Leyla Torres is a two-time Regional Placer and a State Qualifier as a junior. She began wrestling training in Anna in middle school. As wrestling is a weight-class sport, Leyla demonstrates her athletic ability and competitive nature against other athletes of her size. Weight classes eliminate size as a primary factor in the competition and allow her to focus on her technique, her strength, and her mental drive to compete. Realizing the advantages of a weight class sport, wrestling became her sole athletic focus as a freshman.

First competing with a varsity boys & girls team in 2021, your Anna Wrestling program has seen quality success. Over the past three years, the girls team has qualified 9 individuals for the State Championship and returned with 4 State placers, including a State Champion in 2025. The boys team has qualified 10 individuals for the State Championships and returned with 4 State placers, including a State Finalist in 2026. Both teams have earned Regional Runner-up status, with the Girls team finishing 5th in State in 2026.

Sign-up for our wrestling camp and be a part of the next generation of success in Anna Wrestling.

Wrestling is a unique sport in which participants compete against others of equal weight. An athlete succeeds in wrestling based on his or her own efforts. As such, it is a great developer of self-reliance, tenacity under adversity, and hard work. As a result, the sport of wrestling helps young people develop characteristics such as self-esteem, sportsmanship, work ethic, leadership, and grit.

Violet Winkley is a two-time State Qualifier and placed 6th this year as a Sophomore. Violet has competed most of her life in some type of physical sport. Starting with football and rugby in middle school. As a high school athlete, she competes in wrestling for Anna and continues playing rugby for her club team. She began wrestling training in Anna in middle school. As a middle school athlete, she built a strong wrestling foundation and, through repetition and commitment, developed the confidence to compete as a State level wrestler.

Wrestling's alumni have gone on to achieve success in every field. Presidents, authors, actors, astronauts, and respected business executives credit wrestling and the life lessons learned on the mat for their success. Professional athletes credit wrestling for developing their agility, balance, discipline, flexibility, and coordination.
