My first open-water flying experience (Heading NNW from Bean Point, Anna Maria Island, FL to Passage Key Wildlife Refuge and surrounding sandbars) was a bit stressful but amazingly fun.
(For you boaters, the AMI tide at the time was at +1.25 feet)
The total flight was approximately 2.5 miles at an average speed of 40mph.
(I have sped up the first and last thirds of the video by 400%, but the center third is in real-time.)

Tip: When flying long distances over open-water, make sure you understand the boat traffic in the area and stay far above that altitude.

Short drone clips of 2 baby alligators in my backyard this week.
The littlest alligator obviously has no fear of drones whatsoever. lol

TIP: Be weary when flying low over water, as the Avata will let you fly it directly into the water.

While flying around my neighborhood tonight from inside my lanai I went behind too many houses and lost the view from my goggles.
It's scary. Don't do that. LOL

TIP: Closely monitor your "HD" signal (goggle video) in your goggles.

My 2nd Avata (since I crashed my first one after only having it for 2 days), and only my 3rd day ever flying a drone.
I think I did pretty well, although I did get a bit dizzy at the end while making that final quick turn.
Interesting that I am having a difficult time keeping my head from physically tilting when I turn, which probably accounts for some of the dizziness ;-)

TIP: To learn good RC2 controller form (i.e., not "pointing" with your controller), sit down and rest the bottom of the controller on your thigh as you fly, using the bottom of your controller as the pivot point.

TIP: Fast Charging the Avata...
The rate (speed) the Avata batteries charge is 100% related to the power source you use.
In essence, a 65 Watt (usually USB-C) power supply will charge an Avata battery approximately 5 times faster than a 12 Watt (usually USB-A) power supply.
This is easily demonstrated by the Avata batteries' blinking LEDs, as the blinking speeds directly reflect the charging rates.

TIP: One of the major complaints about the older DJI Goggles is the downwards pressure on your nose, so it stands to reason that one of the major advantages of Integra Goggles is the addition of the top strap.
The trick to adjusting the top strap is simple...
* Put the strap into the front of the goggles, but only pull through a few inches (just past the Velcro), and fix it in place.
* Put the back of the strap through the goggles, but do not velcro in place yet.
* Put the goggles on until they are as comfortable as you can get them.
* Now pull the back strap forward just until the weight of the goggles is off your nose.
* Done!

TIP: Do not connect a fully charged battery to the Avata until ready to fly, as a connected battery will drain overnight even with the Avata powered off.

TIP: Practice your Return To Home (RTH) cancellation procedures, as they require pushing different buttons for different RTH functions.
The red (top) button cancels No Signal RTH.
**BUT**
The black (bottom) button cancels Low Battery RTH.

TIP: Always remember to check your battery power right before flying, as your Avata sitting in your closet will still eventually drain your battery.

TIP: Make your life easier with these purchases.
1. An extra battery from DJI.
(With only 15 minutes of flying time each, you will want 2 at least.)
2. Extra battery-charger from EBay. (Buy ONLY DJI OEM chargers!!!)
(DJI does not sell these.)
(With 2 single chargers you can charge 2 batteries at the same time, AND you can still fly if one charger dies.)
(Note that DJI's multi-charger only charges one battery at a time.)
3. A UV filter for the Avata's camera.
(These are used simply for scratch and dirt protection for the camera's lens. Well worth $15.)
4. A multi-charger that can charge multiple USB-C devices simultaneously.
(The main reason for this is so you don't need to have 4 little charger "cubes" plugged into 4 different outlets.)
(I actually have 2 of these Belkin chargers.)
