One week left to register. Registration closes August 31. A few spots still open. If you’re a parent of school-aged children, you know: summer is like a marathon 🏃‍♀️‍➡️

My summer will be a daily juggling act, a blur of summer camps and afternoons at the pool with a few road trips squeezed in. In spite of my tedious planning and best intentions, summer days are often chaotic and exhausting. There’s just not enough downtime.

While I intend to relish every moment, I know I will breathe a sigh of relief when I send my kids off to school on August 31st. The first day of school not only signals a change of pace — it’s an opportunity to start over. With that feeling in mind, I’m super excited to introduce the next edition of RESPITE: Back to School Breather 🧘‍♀️

If you go back far enough with me, before COVID, you might remember I used to teach at the YMCA in Ann Arbor. 

Well, I’m heading back there for a special fall workshop, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’ll be joining YMCA yoga teacher and friend of mine, Peg Knight, for this two hour workshop focused on moving out of the judging mind and into the feeling body. Leave with a fresh perspective, ready to embrace creativity and clarity.

Hello Friends,
There’s a particular kind of tired that shows up right before the school year kicks back in... the calendar fills, the pace picks up, and somewhere in there we forget to pause and take a breath. That’s exactly why my friend Vinal started RESPITE, and why I keep saying yes to being part of it.

This time it’s called Back to School Breather, happening September 11th at York. We’ll spend some time together in an easeful yoga practice, DJ BATZ will hold the sound for the evening, there’ll be a glass of something sparkling, and a light dinner after... charcuterie, salads, fruit, the good stuff.

Early bird is $125 through July 31st. Starting August 1st it moves to $135, so if this is calling to you, now’s the time.

Let me gently bring your attention to feel the subtle movement toward spring.
You can sense it now, even if the air is still cool. The light lingers a little longer. The body wants to stretch open. Something is ready to shift
The equinox is a moment of balance, equal light and dark. A threshold. A reset.

We’ll begin with a steady, grounding yoga practice to clear out the heaviness of winter and build fresh internal warmth. Nothing rushed. Nothing performative. Just intentional movement to prepare the body and steady the mind.
Then we’ll settle in for a deep sound journey. Layers of vibration. Tone and texture. Space to release what’s complete and quietly welcome what’s next.
This is a night to:
• Clear winter residue�• Rebalance your nervous system�• Set a simple, honest intention for spring�• Be held in sound and stillness
If you’ve joined me for solstice or equinox gatherings before, you know there’s something special about practicing in rhythm with the seasons. If you haven’t, this is a beautiful place to begin. Available for every-BODY!
