UofM Electric Boat is a student project team at the University of Michigan that designs, builds, and races a manned electric-powered boat to compete in the Promoting Electronic Propulsion competition hosted by the American Society of Naval Engineers.

Sneak peek of our powertrain getting showcased at PEP! Due to the ongoing University EV project team operations freeze, we have not yet been able to build a custom battery for the boat, but we were still able to show off our powertrain functionality with a small test battery. Thank you to everyone who stopped by and asked questions at PEP, it was great meeting new people and we can't wait to come back next year!

Last week we took the D-Stock down to Portsmouth, Virginia for the 2026 Promoting Electric Propulsion (PEP) competition to showcase our D-Stock! Due to the ongoing University EV project team operations freeze, we have not yet been able to build a custom battery for the boat, but we still had a great time networking with other teams and companies, along with showcasing our powertrain functionality with a small test battery. Thank you to Mike Briscoe and the whole PEP team for setting up and running a great event, we can't wait to come back next year!

Stay tuned for more build updates and hopefully some on-water testing in the coming months!! We have some big things in the pipeline to be announced in the future... ⚡️🛠️

Starting off our Silver Sponsors, a big thank you to the Promoting Electric Propulsion (PEP) Competition, which is an annual collegiate engineering competition sponsored by the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) and the Office of Naval Research (ONR). Transom repair and footer plate install is done!

Swipe for the before and after and pictures of the whole process (and a surprise at the end). Shoutout to the Performance team for all the hard work and high attention to detail to get this finished!
