Lake Country Cyclists is a cycling club out of Ankeny, Iowa but we also have members in Des Moines, Johnston, Polk City, and other towns along the High Trestle Trail. Lake Country Cyclists is a cycling club that has been dedicated to cycling safety, recreation, and education since 1993! We are based out of Ankeny, Iowa but also have members in Johnston, Bondurant, Polk City, and other towns along

the High Trestle Trail and throughout the Des Moines metro and Central Iowa. LCC offers 3 standing rides each week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Ride routes vary, and consist mostly of trails, but might also include some road riding. All rides are no-drop, meaning there is always a designated “sweep” to make sure no one is left behind. Non-members are welcome to participate in up to 2 of the weekly rides before joining but must sign a participation waiver prior to riding. The club also offers several member-only events throughout the year, including special and destination bike rides, non-ride social activities, educational programs like bike maintenance, and 2 membership meetings a year-- a spring meeting to kick off the riding season and a fall meeting to enjoy our accomplishments. Club members also volunteer in the community with monthly trail clean-up and having a booth at the Iowa Bike Expo each January. Some rides and social events are for members only. We had a nice turnout for our trash cleanup day. The club "adopted" two miles of the Gay Lea Wilson Trail in Ankeny to keep it tidy for trail users. We then visited FireTrucker Brewery, one of our business members, to chat. Join us and make new biking friends! Lakecountrycyclists.com
