✨ Let Your Light Shine ✨

What a beautiful day celebrating the talent, dedication, and joy of our dancers at our 2026 Showcase! From our tiniest performers to our adult dancers, every dancer stepped onto the stage with courage, confidence, and heart, truly letting their light shine.

Thank you to our incredible dancers for sharing your gifts, our families for your endless support, our instructors and staff for your passion and commitment, our volunteers for keeping everything running smoothly, and our community members who continue to believe in what we do.

A special thank you to everyone who filled the audience and cheered on our dancers. Your encouragement helps make moments like these unforgettable.

We are so proud of all that was accomplished on that stage and grateful for the memories made together. Keep shining bright! 💛✨

What an incredible in-studio Showcase Run-Through! ✨

Last night was a beautiful reminder of what makes our dance family so special. Beyond the choreography, technique, and passion, we witnessed dancers cheering one another on, celebrating each other’s successes, and finding inspiration in the hard work happening all around them.

From our youngest performers to our most experienced dancers, every student brought energy, focus, and heart to the stage. Watching them encourage one another and grow together is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

Now the excitement continues! Tomorrow we head to the theatre for dress rehearsal, where all of the pieces begin to come together. Then on Saturday, it’s finally time to share these months of dedication, growth, and artistry with our audience.

We are so proud of every dancer and cannot wait to watch them shine under the stage lights. The countdown to Showcase is on!

It’s SHOW WEEK! ✨

When most people think of a dance recital, they picture little dancers in sparkly costumes taking the stage for the first time. And while we absolutely celebrate those magical moments 🥰, the stage was never meant just for children.

This weekend, our showcase will feature dancers of all ages—including adults who have chosen to keep learning, growing, creating, and challenging themselves through dance. All of them have dedicated countless hours to their craft and have the courage to share that work with an audience.

At Midwest Dance Collective, we believe dance belongs to everyone. The stage belongs to everyone. It belongs to anyone willing to put in the work, take the risk, and express themselves through movement. That’s why we say, “you belong here” - because dance belongs to you!

This showcase is a celebration of hard work, dedication, artistry, and bravery—not just for our youngest dancers, but for every performer who steps into the spotlight and shares a piece of themselves with the world. You won’t want to miss this!!

We can’t wait to celebrate all of our dancers this week. 💛

Today at kindergarten graduation, my daughter stood up and said she wants to be a dance teacher when she grows up.

And honestly, it caught me completely off guard in the most emotional way.

As a dance teacher and studio owner, so much of my life is spent pouring into other people’s children — encouraging them, teaching them, believing in them, creating spaces for them to grow. There are moments when I quietly wonder what that means for my own children. I wonder if they feel how much of my heart is doing this work, or if they ever feel like they share me with the studio.

So hearing her say those words today felt incredibly meaningful. Not because I need her to follow in my footsteps, but because it reminded me that our children are always watching. They see our passion. They feel our purpose. They witness the love, dedication, creativity, and care we give to the world.
It made me emotional realizing that maybe she hasn’t just seen how hard I work — maybe she’s seen why I do it.

And if the biggest thing my children learn from me is to lead with heart, to create joy, to inspire others, and to use their gifts to make people feel seen and loved… then maybe all the long days and sacrifices are becoming something beautiful after all. 🤍

Now that we’ve finished our competition season we are excited to showcase the pieces our dancers have worked on all season long, beginning with our youngest performers!

Three Little Birds
Performed by Afton, Nova, & Oakley
Average age 6
Choreographed by Theresa Berger Moore

From 1st Overalls to ALL the fun, this trio was regularly recognized for their sweet performances, beautiful costumes, challenging yet appropriate choreography, and strong sense of movement quality at such a young age. 🕊️🕊️🕊️

This final competition weekend was a beautiful reflection of what Midwest Dance Collective is truly about. Yes, this season brought incredible success, meaningful recognition, and more awards than we could have imagined — and we are deeply proud of the work our dancers have put in to achieve that. But the trophies have never been the purpose.

We do not build dancers to chase titles. We build dancers to become resilient, disciplined, collaborative, artistic, and compassionate human beings. The real win is found in the growth that happens along the way — in the classroom and rehearsals, the teamwork backstage, the moments of encouragement, the trust built between dancers, and the courage to keep showing up and evolving together.

This weekend, we watched our dancers celebrate each other wholeheartedly, perform with authenticity, and represent our values with professionalism and heart. That kind of culture matters more to us than any score ever could.

Proud is an understatement. Grateful for this team, this season, and the reminder that when you lead with purpose, connection, and passion, success has a way of following naturally. 🤍

Well done, dancers. I love you, forever and always!

❤️Ms. Theresa

To all of my dance teachers, calling you to say…

On “Thank a Dance Teacher Day,” I find myself reflecting with so much gratitude on the teachers, professors, directors, and mentors who shaped not only the dancer I became — but the human being, artist, and educator I continue striving to be.

To the very first teacher who sparked pure joy in me and made me fall in love with dance… thank you for showing me the magic of movement.

To the professors who guided me through higher education and challenged me to think deeper, study harder, and understand dance as both an art form and a responsibility… thank you.

To the directors and teachers throughout my professional career who pushed me beyond comfort and into authentic artistry, vulnerability, discipline, and growth… thank you for helping me discover what it truly means to be an artist.

And to the mentors who modeled integrity, compassion, leadership, and humanity within the arts — who showed me that community matters, that people matter, and that heart-led leadership is powerful — thank you for inspiring the kind of studio owner and teacher I hope to be every single day.

Dance teachers do far more than teach steps. They shape confidence, character, resilience, creativity, connection, and belonging. Their impact lives on in every student they touch, long after the music ends.

Today and every day, I carry deep gratitude for those who poured into me. I hope to honor their influence by pouring that same care, passion, and integrity into the next generation. 🤍

With so much love and gratitude,

Theresa
