This year's National Academy presented the 2026 Awards and Recognitions to deserving members in various categories Tuesday evening. It was a true honor to recognize so many legendary contributors to our organization. In the Educational Excellence category; Jean Mayer, Weems Westfeldt, Jerry Berg and Victor Gerdin were recognized. Very sad to hear of the passing of a New Mexico Ski legend, Sigi Klein. Sigi was the ski school director in Red River in 1964 and taught well into his 80's in Red River. Sigi taught in Mt. Tremblant Quebec, California and Colorado. He was inducted into the NM Ski Hall of Fame in 2015. I will always remember his gentle spirit and twinkling eyes. He was always ready for a "ruuunnn" first chair no matter the weather. Godspeed friend. Robin
