Ski Shop Manager – Snowblaze Ski Shop, Angel Fire, NM
Location: 14 Five Springs Road, Angel Fire, NM 87710
Compensation: Seasonal Salary – $27,000 (approx. 4-month position) + select benefits
Position Type: Full-time, Seasonal (Winter Ski Season)
Reports To: Owner
Position Overview
Snowblaze Ski Shop is seeking a full-time, seasonal Shop Manager to lead operations during the Angel Fire winter ski season. This individual will serve as the primary representative of the business and act on behalf of ownership in all day-to-day matters. The ideal candidate will live locally in or near Angel Fire during the ski season and be available to work daily, with scheduled days off except during peak business periods (e.g., holidays and spring break).
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and oversee 3–5 shop employees
• Ensure smooth daily operations and uphold the values and customer service standards
• Greet and assist customers
• Manage and track ski/snowboard rental inventory
• Oversee sellable inventory (e.g., gloves, masks, accessories)
• Conduct quality control of all ski and snowboard equipment
• Handle basic reporting and communication with ownership (status, inventory, finances)
• Process and submit weekly employee payroll
Required Qualifications
• Strong people and management skills
• Basic experience with skiing or snowboarding
• Familiarity with basic financial tracking and shop operations
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred/Trainable Skills
• Ski and snowboard tuning and maintenance
• Shop administration experience
Schedule & Availability
• Full-time seasonal (approx. 4 months)
• Two days off per week, excluding peak sales periods (winter holidays and spring break)
