The PV Lakers 9-11 softball All-Stars are District 1 champions and with no further competition available in the state of Ohio, they instantly have become state of Ohio Champions!

They wrapped up their district tournament play this afternoon by beating Tallmadge 17-0. The Lakers' bats were as hot as the temperature today as they collected 13 hits with 12 total RBIs. Worked only 1 walk and struck out 6 times. The ball was in play for nearly every batter. Ava Severino, Eva Martin, Evelynn Masirovits & Harper Drapp each had a double. Eva Martin & Evelynn Masirovits also added triples to their box scores.

PV took off in the first inning and did not look back. In the first inning Eva Martin doubled and knocked in Bella Beight, which was followed up by an Ava Severino single to knock in Martin. Addyson Fetters hit a single to advance the base runners. Then Harper Drapp doubled knocking in both Severino & Fetters. After scoring 4 in the first inning, the offense continued by scoring another 5 runs in the 2nd, 2 more in the 3rd and finally 6 more in the 4th inning.

The players recording hits today were: Hadley Hayes 1/2, Bella Beight 2/3, Evelynn Masirovits 2/3, Eva Martin 2/3, Ava Severino 3/3, Addyson Fetters 1/3, Harper Drapp 1/3 and Lila Fisher 1/2.

Evelynn Masirovits led the way with 4 RBIs, then Beight, Martin & Drapp knocked in 2 each. Severino & Logan Hummer each recorded an RBI as well.

Along with the potent offense that could not be stopped, Tallmadge could not get the ball in play due to the large part of Beight pitching. She did a fantastic job of working all sides of the plate and missing Tallmadge bats like a desert misses the rain.
Beight wrapped up the game with 4.0ip, 0 hits allowed, 0 runs allowed, 0 earned, 4 walks and 9 strikeouts.

Her combined pitching stats against Tallmadge All-Stars over two games was 8.0ip 0h 0r 0er 4bb 19k

Up next for the PV 9-11 All-Stars is hopefully a regional tournament, but that is still TBD.

The PV 9-11 Softball All-Stars began its 3-game series against the 9-11 Tallmadge All-Stars this evening (June 26th) for the District 1 Championship. PV wrapped up a commanding opening game series lead by a mercied final score of 12-0 after 3-1/2 innings of play.

Starting pitcher Bella Beight was absolutely dominant tonight. She only needed 62 total pitches to work thru 4 PERFECT INNINGS of play. Yes, she pitched a perfect game! 4.0ip 0h 0r 0er 0bb 10k. The only two Tallmadge batters to not strike out grounded into a 1-3 (P Bella Beight to 1B Addyson Fetters) in the 1st inning & a 4-3 ground out (2B Hadley Hayes to 1B Addyson Fetters) in the 3rd inning.

Beyond Bella's command within the pitching circle. PV put the ball in play this evening with their bats and had timely base running. Harper Drapp led the team with 3 RBIs, followed by Bella Beight, Ava Severino & Eva Martin each with 2 RBIs. Addyson Fetters joined in with 1 RBI. With 19 total at bats for PV, 12 runs scored on 6 hits with only 2 walks and 5 strikeouts as a team, it was a powerful performance in game 1.

The 6 total hits tonight belonged to PV girls, they were: Hadley Hayes (.333) 1/3 - Bella Beight (.667) 2/3 1 double - Eva Martin (1.000) 1/1 triple - Ava Severino (1.000) 2/2.

The PV 9-11 Softball All-Stars (1-0) will play game 2 in a must win game for Tallmadge 9-11 All-Stars (0-1) for the right to be District 1 Champions on Sunday, June 28th at 1pm, location TBD.

The PV All-Stars 8-10 team wins a third in a row! This time sending Kingsville (1-1) to the loser's bracket.

Billy Hayes, III got the start and win this evening and went 5.0 innings pitched, 2 hits allowed, 2 runs (1 earned), 1 walk and 8 strikeouts. Hayes has been a rock for the PV All-Stars as his combined stats are (2-0) 8.2ip 5h 6r 4er 5bb 17k. Along with pitching he is also batting a perfect 1.000 average (8/8, 2 doubles, 1 triple and 6 rbi's)

Along with Hayes, III pitching, he had outstanding defense behind him this evening. Catcher Carter Grabman had 3 fielding assists from behind the plate this evening and was credited with 10 put outs & Emmett French had a great play from shortstop to catch a stealing runner.

The PV 8-10 minors' All-Star team (2-0) sends another team to the loser's bracket this evening by handling Ashtabula (0-1) by a final score of 18 to 8!

The first inning started off with a line drive single to left center from Ryker Estergall and he was knocked in by Billy Hayes, III 2 batters later. Carter Cunningham knocked Hayes, III in with one of his two doubles this evening to take an opening lead of 2-0. Ashtabula tied the game up in the bottom of the first, but PV tallied two more runs in the second and Ashtabula never tied or led at any point after the 1st.

Both Braxton Szuba and Emmett French worked walks in the 2nd inning and were able to come around the bases on passed ball opportunities to stretch that lead to 4-2.

The score was 7-5 PV entering the 5th inning before the PV offensive explosion of 11 total runs on 4 hits (Bryton Brown, Ryker Estergall and Braxton Szuba each recorded singles and Carter Cunningham hit his second double on an absolute monster of a hit that cleared the bases. PV worked 7 walks that inning and a hit by pitch.

Carter Cunningham (1-0) was the winning pitcher this evening after he was relieved before the 3rd inning with the lead still intact. He threw 2.0 innings, gave up 0 hits, 2 runs (0 earned), 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.
He was relieved in the third inning by Carter Grabman who went 1.0 inning, 3 hits, 3 runs (1 earned), 0 walks, 2 strikeouts.
Emmett French (1 SV) earned a two inning save tonight as he came into the game with only a two run lead before the 11 run offensive outburst the following half inning. Emmett finished with 2.0 innings pitched, 2 hits, 3 earned runs, 3 walks and 6 strikeouts.

PV (2-0) will travel to Kingsville (1-0) on Tuesday, June 23rd at 6pm after Kingsville beat Conneaut 10-1 this evening.

Only 4 teams remain in the winners bracket, PV (2-0) - Kingsville (1-0) - Tallmadge (1-0) - Cuyahoga Falls (2-0).

Pymatuning Valley Little League's 8-10 Minors Baseball All-Star team mercied Painesville's 8-10 Minors Baseball All-Star team on June 17th, by a final score of 12-4.

The PV All-Star team (1-0), won with a surplus of offensive hits, smart base running and efficient pitching to send Painesville (0-1) to the loser's bracket this evening.

PV was powered at the plate offensively this evening by a combination of Billy Hayes, III & Carter Cunningham. Collectively, the two led the way with 6 combined hits & 5 RBIs! PV altogether tallied 10 total hits: Billy Hayes, III (1.000) with 3 hits & 3 RBIs (2 doubles & 1 triple), Carter Cunningham (1.000) with 3 singles & 2 RBIs, Carson Neubauer (1.000) with 2 singles, Ryker Estergall (1.000) with 1 single and Brady Eastlake (.333) with 1 single. PV was patient at the plate this evening and worked 8 walks. R. Estergall & Emmett French each had 2, Carter Grabman, C. Neubauer, Braxton Szuba, and Warrick White each had 1 walk.

Billy Hayes, III (1-0) started the game for PV from the mound and earned victory as pitcher of record against Painesville. Hayes, III threw 47 of 79 pitches (59.49 strike %) for strikes and finished the game with 3.2 innings pitched, 3 hits allowed, 3 earned runs, 4 walks, and 9 strikeouts!

Hayes, III was relieved by Estergall who wrapped up the contest throwing 10 strikes on 20 total pitches and finished the game with 1.1 innings pitched, 0 hits, 0 earned runs, 1 walk, 0 strikeouts.

The PV 8-10 All-Stars (1-0) will take on Ashtabula (0-0) on Friday, June 19th 6pm, at the Andover Rec Park.

The team consists of: Ryker Estergall, Carter Grabman, Billy Hayes III, Carter Cunningham, Carson Neubauer, Bradley Eastlake, Braxton Szuba, Emmett French, Gaige Rose, Tristen Gray, Warrick White and Bryten Brown.
