This journey. 1 month ago I promised myself 4 days intentional exercise each week. Personally the goal feels both low(from where I was and want to be) and lofty(because for life right now it is hard to fit in 4 days because responsibilities). But I’ve done it. And it feels amazing.

Just a reminder we have seasons. Season of super fitness and activity and seasons where family life takes the front stage. Or seasons where we are recovering from injury or birth. Life and fitness is the long haul. Don’t get down on yourself for focusing on other things in a certain season

So often we get caught up with every small food and lifestyle decision. Then we “fall off” the heath wagon or we become so obsessed we don’t have time for anything else.
But if instead of focusing on every little detail, we focus on the BIG habits, we can create a sustainable lifestyle.

Why should you be thinking about pregnancy, postpartum and menopause in your 20s?
Because you are laying the foundation for these periods of your life.
While not every women will chose or be able to have children, every woman will go through menopause. If you have an established base of strength (muscle and bone) and relationship with food, you are setting yourself up for the best possible outcome. These factors are extremely important during these periods of life!
So even if you are 20 and far off from babies and achieving menopause, you could benefit from female specific training!

The more I learn, the more I realize how important our feet are to exercise and life.
I know foot shaped shoes may look oddly wide or you like your cushiony shoes, but you are not doing your feet any feet or bodies any favor in the long run. You will lose your foot strength and mobility. But guess what you can get it back!! Consider working toward minimal/barefoot shoes.

These past 2 weeks have been rough. I’m not one to get sick but I was sick for 12 days and so was everyone else. First workout of the new year and first of workout in 2 weeks.

Remember as you make those resolutions, it isn’t all about going hard everyday, but about knowing when to slowdowns and keeping going even after setbacks.
