Noguchi Sensei was a student of many other martial arts (karate, kendo, judo, etc.) before he studied Yoshinkan Aikido under Gozo Shioda Sensei in Japan. He eventually settled in Hawaii and began teaching his version of Aikido. One of his students, Charlie Ii Sensei, trained with h
im diligently in Hawaii before setting out (with Noguchi Sensei's blessings) to teach and travel abroad and continue his studies. In the late 90's Ii Sensei settled in Northern California and began teaching his version of Aikido Shizenkai. At this time Peter Griggs and Bill Gaumer continue the tradition and teachings Ii Sensei passed onto them while adding in their Jujutsu, Gung Fu, and weapons training.
