Saturday August 3rd 2024

We attended the 43rd shrine race @ Laurens County Speedway and started off pretty decent!
Ben was 2nd fastest in hot laps and started 2nd row inside for the heat race.
The heat race was pretty fun, Ben was up on the wheel fighting for 3rd majority of the race until a caution came out for a car trying to exit the track but didn't get cleared into the pit gate.
On the restart they went green and going into turn 1 Ben got drove through on the LR quarter, busting the LR tire.
It was a heat race so no flat tire laps allowed.

Come main event time Ben started second row outside. Initial start the 12 went low down the front stretch and Ben tried to capitalize but the 12 shut the door before getting to 1 so he shuffled back to 5th. Few laps in a caution came out, went back green and had door to door contact with the 58 resulting in Ben spinning off of 2.
They went back green and Ben was riding in 6th. Another caution came out and then they went back green with Ben 3rd (Delaware restart) ran 3rd for about 5 laps when yet another caution came out.
They lined back up single file and went green. Ben had a run under 2nd place off 2 when the 58's tail came down into his line and they made contact. Ben came in after that, duct taped the RF fender to try to keep it from dragging to go back out to finish the main. Unfortunately something in the RF was bent along with dragging the fender/nose it was pushing in the center but he ended up p3. Very proud of you for getting up on the wheel! Well we started off promising with a decent run in qualifying then tripped over my own feet in the heat race with a spin, but bounced back with a great run in the lcq starting 13th and finishing 3rd but was 1 spot short for the main...ended up getting a points provisional to start 24. Decided to fall to the rear and ride. Got caught up in a wreck,spun,went to the back again and put on a show getting to 7th...not a win but I had more fun than the winner! 😉 oh and had the best looking car at the event...500+cars and my was the best...thank you Dirt Darlin Designs.
