Tikigaq Corporation and the North Slope Borough (NSB) have partnered to establish a new fuel distribution model in Point Hope, aimed at improving efficiency, ensuring consistent service delivery, and providing residents with more affordable fuel options.
Historically, Tikigaq Corporation has been solely responsible for fuel purchasing, sales, and distribution in the village of Point Hope. Under the leadership of Ryan Rock, President of Tikigaq Corporation, and Josiah Aullaqsruaq Patkotak, Mayor of the North Slope Borough, the two organizations have collaborated to develop this innovative approach for this essential community resource.
In the new model, Tikigaq Corporation will serve as a contractor working directly for the NSB. The Borough will leverage its substantial buying power, existing infrastructure, and administrative leadership to help secure consistent and cost-effective fuel supplies for Point Hope residents.
As the partnership continues to refine operations between the two entities, the goal is to expand service days in the near future and establish a reliable, dependable level of fuel availability that the community can count on.
This collaboration represents a positive step forward in supporting the residents of Point Hope, one of Alaska's most remote and culturally significant communities, by addressing the high costs and logistical challenges of fuel in the Arctic.
Hours of operation:
Fuel Station hours will be Monday through Saturday 9am-6pm

Based on the new contract new fees may apply for example: call out fees will going from $150 to $250.
