🔹 Fi****ms Tip of the Day: Practice Verbal Commands
Most people practice shooting.
Very few practice talking.
In many defensive encounters, a strong verbal command may stop the threat before a shot is ever fired.
Practice clear, concise commands such as:
✅ “STOP!”
✅ “DON’T COME ANY CLOSER!”
✅ “GET BACK!”
✅ “CALL 911!”
Benefits include:
* Creating a moment to assess the situation
* Potentially de-escalating the encounter
* Alerting witnesses that you’re the victim, not the aggressor
* Helping establish that you attempted to avoid using force
When you train, don’t just stand silently on the range. Incorporate verbal commands into dry-fire and scenario-based practice.
Your voice may be your most effective defensive tool—and it’s one that doesn’t require ammunition.
Train your communication skills just as seriously as your shooting skills.
