It is with pleasure to announce that AFA was recently approved by the I.R.S. under section 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable contribution status as a 509(a)2 public charity.

We look forward to serving the communities of Alaska by using football as a vehicle.

Update on a winter season:

AFA is excited to report that it has exclusive usage to Anchorage’s Dome for up to a standard size football field! Also, The Dome will set up a YouTube live stream for games!

Winter season can start as early as November. AFA plans to run 9v9 tackle, so get your team registered (!) so that we may plan a solid start date.

Email [email protected] to register your team.

Team fee is not finalized but it is expected to be around $1,500 per team. A portion of the team fee will be considered a deposit, so that means teams may have $ returned to them at the end of the season!

It is time to bring winter tackle football action to Alaska! 🏈

Event reminder:

This Saturday, Sept 24, at 2pm at the Anchorage Downtown Cemetery, AFA will be partnering with American Legion Post 1 to clean soldier graves. For logistical purposes, we need a head count for those who plan to volunteer.

Great news! AFA has found a home to play its 2022/23 winter season indoor tackle football games. The Dome has opened its doors for AFA action 🏈

The earliest target start-date will be the fourth quarter of 2022.

Mark your calendars! September 24, 2022, AFA will be partnering with a local American Legion Post in an effort to clean our soldiers’ graves in Anchorage, Alaska. Our brave soldiers are gone but not forgotten 🙏🏼🕊

Welcome everyone!

The Alaska Football Association (AFA) is a newly created organization that is recognized by the State of Alaska as a nonprofit corporation. AFA is taking the proper steps to put itself in a favorable position to gain 501(c)3 status recognized by the Internal Revenue Service. AFA is managed by five board of directors who are governed by AFA articles of incorporation and bylaws.

AFA is excited to continue football in Alaska and help provide extra opportunities that serve the people and the communities. AFA will use football as a vehicle to help improve socioeconomic situations in the Anchorage Municipal areas and further. And let’s have some football fun while we’re at it!!
