When you get to the range to shoot Sunday, you’ll see all the new improvements we’ve made!

The Sheriff’s Office is asking that we stay off the new asphalt with vehicles for the next few months to give it time to properly settle. Walking on it is perfectly fine; we just ask that no vehicles be driven on it for now.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and look forward to seeing y’all Sunday for another great match!

Well, ladies and gentlemen, the berms and range work are officially complete — and it looks amazing!

A HUGE shoutout and thank you to Gus O'Krepki for all the labor, equipment, and time he put into making this happen. He didn’t charge the club a dime for anything other than materials, and with the amount of work that was completed, I’m pretty sure he even came out of pocket on some of that. We truly can’t thank him enough for everything he has done for TPS and our range.

I never usually ask for rain, but hopefully we’ll get a little over the next few weeks to help everything settle and get some grass growing. If Mother Nature cooperates, we should be ready to start shooting on the new berms by next month’s match!

One of the new bays is also now a 270-degree bay! This is going to give us a lot more freedom and creativity when designing stages and open up some stage possibilities we simply couldn’t do before. I’m really excited to see what our stage designers come up with!
The board is also already working on the next steps. We’re looking at getting more walls and props built for the new bays, along with a new storage shed to keep everything organized and protected.

And most importantly, thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, shot the fundraising matches, or helped make this project possible. None of this could have happened without the support of our shooting community.

This has been a huge leap forward for Tangi Practical Shooters and our range, and I can’t wait for everyone to see it and shoot on it!

Tangi Practical Shooters – Range Update

Good news! Weather permitting, all berm and limestone work should be completed by Wednesday. We’re getting very close to having everything finished, and the range is really coming together.

We were initially planning to hold the Berm Shootout Match on the 5th Sunday this month. This is the match we promised to everyone who came out and supported our Build the Berms Match.

After discussing it with the board, we have decided to push the Berm Shootout back for a couple of reasons.

First, we had over 100 shooters at the Build the Berms Match. Even with the additional bays, trying to run that many shooters through a match in the August heat would make for an extremely long and hot day.

Second, once the work is complete, we want to stay off the new berms as much as possible for about a month. This will give the grass time to establish and allow the clay to settle and compact before we start putting a lot of traffic on the bays.

The Berm Shootout is still happening. We’re simply moving it to a later date so we can give everyone a better match and give all this work some time to settle in properly. We’ll announce the new date once we have it worked out.

I’ll continue to post updates as we make progress.

A huge thank you to everyone who has contributed, donated, volunteered, shot the fundraiser match, or helped make this project possible. It has taken a lot of work and support to get to this point, and we truly appreciate everyone who has been a part of it.
