“I can’t believe you’d put your kids in ISR, it’s so traumatic!!”
No… you know what’s traumatic? Losing your child.
ISR (Infant Swimming Resource) teaches babies as young as 6 months how to survive in the water if the unthinkable happens. Not just “swim” but survive.
The focus isn’t on swimming laps. It’s on floating. Because swimming is exhausting for little bodies. They learn to swim just enough to turn themselves onto their back, float, breathe, and rest. Then repeat. That’s what saves lives.
Lessons are only 10 minutes a day.
Is it hard at first? Yes, mostly for the parents. Watching your child learn something new is uncomfortable sometimes. But within days, something clicks. They gain confidence. They understand what to do.
And by the end?
They can fall into the water fully clothed, shoes and all, and know how to save themselves.
That is worth the price and commitment to me.
