WARNING: CARRYING LARGE CAPACITY FEEDING DEVICES IN MASSACHUSETTS

It is illegal to carry a firearm with a large capacity feeding device on a public way in Massachusetts! The only way to transport a large capacity feeding device is if it is unloaded and in a locked container. (So-called "pre bans" are NOT exempt under the new law.)

There is no exemption for those possessing a Massachusetts LTC to carry a grandfathered large capacity magazine on a public way or in a vehicle. The law specifically states that an LTC does not authorize possession or carry of large capacity feeding devices except as permitted by §131M.

Bottom line: carrying one on your person on a public way—or simply keeping one loose or accessible in your vehicle—can expose you to serious criminal charges.
