Becoming the "Thing Beneath the Stairs"

It came time to button up Amesbury Skate & Sport, cover up the whole in the
floor and welcome Glow Personalized Skin Care to expand their current 1,200
square foot space to 2,000 sq. ft.

Don't be alarmed......a certified contractor properly and safely secured the
flooring, I merely hu**ed the debris away and surprisingly didn't hurt
myself.

I will continue servicing Local Leagues, Teams and Organizations from the
4,000 sq. ft. basement of the building here at Patriot Plaza - 77 Macy
Street - Amesbury. Thanks again for all of your business and support.

Coming soon will be the new name of this re-launched business.

Saturday January 16th Was our last Retail Day….and what a day!! Thanks to A-Sport Nation for your business, your kind words and for 28 Years of Support, Smiles & Laughter .

Tom Heaney was the recipient of the Last Skate Sharpening and we shared a toast to Old Time Hockey – Foil-Up!!

Colin and Lisa Pearson were the last Official Customers. Colin can place that moment in his bank of lifelong Memories – Thanks Colin and Lisa for the great Smiles!!

Hello A-Sport Nation,

First and most important…….Thank you for your business and your support!!

In the next few weeks, I will announce the Name of the Team/Uniform business that I will continue operating to serve Local Leagues, Teams & Institutions throughout my marketing area. I look forward to seeing many of you in the future to assist with Uniform, Team Needs and Embroidered / Silkscreened Products.

Sadly though, the time has come to have my last retail day……and I wanted to offer my sincerest, heartfelt thanks to all of you for allowing me to assist with your sporting goods needs. Some of you have been customers for all 27+ years that I have had the pleasure of owning Amesbury Skate & Sport, some for just a short time, many are 2nd Generation customers and most have heard me tell a long story that you really could have gone without hearing.

This Saturday will be our last Retail Day from 9 – 3. I have been thinking of the title to be attached with the last day….please feel free to offer your vote as to which you like best.

Hello Amesbury Sport Nation,

First, first & first……let me say Thank You – Thank You – Thank You for all of your support , your friendship and your business. The time has come that I need to “Retire” the Retail operations of Amesbury Skate & Sport.

Starting in 2016, I will move forward with just the Team & Organization side of the business….re-branding that Venture and “Retiring” the Amesbury Skate & Sport Name. I am excited about the future of the Team Sports Venture though it saddens me to know that future generations will miss the experience, the fragrance and the thrill of poking around the local sports shop.

It has been a pleasure to serve the Sporting Goods needs of this community since purchasing the store from Fred Fournier in 1988. Witnessing the store’s customer base grow over the years and watching the children I originally helped in the late 80’s and early 90’s introduce me to their children has been a rewarding experience.

Starting tomorrow, I will be starting the “Retail Retirement” Sale and find a home for all the remaining inventory now in stock. Late Wednesday I will begin posting Sale information at http://amesburysport.com/ please continue to check our website for latest info and Hours of Operation.

Over the next 4 – 6 weeks as the retail business winds down…..I will continue to send e-mails with the latest info and updates.

Thank you once again your support, whether you visited Amesbury Sport for the first time this past year, have been a customer since 1973 when the business was born or since 1988 when I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to serve you and this community as a whole.
