Furman Aquatic Center Update – 6/13/2026

Due to low patron count and forecasted weather in the area, Furman Aquatic Center will be closed on Saturday, June 13th for the remainder of the day.

Furman Aquatic Center Update – 6/13/2026

Due to lightning in the area, Furman Aquatic Center will be closed on Saturday, June 13 until 3:00 PM or 30 minutes after the last lightning strike (the last lightning strike was at 2:40 PM).

All outdoor aquatic activities will be suspended immediately when lightning is observed or thunder is heard. Activities may resume 30 minutes after the last lightning flash or thunderclap. Any additional lightning or thunder will restart the 30 minute timer.

A Live Action Recognition Drill will be held at Furman Aquatic Center on Tuesday, June 16, 2026 between the hours of 1 - 3 p.m.. When the drill is in place, admissions to Furman Aquatic Center will be suspended until the all clear has been given (typically approximately 15- 20 minutes).

This drill is a full scale rescue simulation that will involve emergency medical teams (lifeguards, fire, police, and ambulance personnel). During the actual drill we will ask patrons to clear the basin to which the emergency simulation is occurring to conduct the drill safely for staff and patrons.

Due to lightning in the area, pools in Furman Aquatic Center will be cleared for 30 minutes after the last lightning strike (last lightning strike at 12:45 PM)

Weather reminder: If lightning is seen or thunder is heard, a 30‑minute delay will begin from the most recent occurrence.

Due to ongoing lightning and anticipated weather throughout the rest of the evening, Furman Aquatic Center will close for the remainder of the day.

Furman Aquatic Center Update – Wednesday, June 10, 2026

Due to lightning in the area, Furman Aquatic Center will be delayed on opening at 11:00 am until 30 minutes after the last lightning strike. (Last lightning strike has taken place at 11:00 AM).

We still plan on opening Furman Aquatic Center weather permitting.
