As Pebble Beach celebrates its 75th anniversary with legendary Italian coachbuilder Vignale as the featured coachbuilder of the 2026 Concours d’Elegance, we’re looking back at the 1957 Bill Frick Special GT Coupe, Best in Show at the 2025 Bridlemont Concours.

Designed by Giovanni Michelotti and bodied by Vignale, the one-of-one GT brought Italian coachbuilding together with an unmistakably American formula: a Studebaker-based chassis and Cadillac V8 power.

A fitting moment to revisit one of the most extraordinary automobiles to grace the Bridlemont field.

While historic racing machines take to Laguna Seca for the Rolex Monterey Motorsports Reunion, we’re revisiting one of our favorites from the 2025 Bridlemont field: Juan Gonzalez’s 1973 Lola T282, winner of Best Race Car.

More than a showpiece, the T282 continues to compete in historic racing today — carrying its racing legacy forward more than 50 years after it was built.
