I started this account because I wanted to finally prove someone wrong…

And that someone was ME.🙋🏼‍♀️

Seriously! I completely uprooted my life and made a laundry list of changes all at one time, and the biggest reason why I actually did it all is because I wanted to stick it to the bully inside of MYSELF that kept telling me that I wasn’t capable.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I got tired of feeling ashamed of my ‘thunder thighs’.
I got tired of feeling embarrassed in every outfit.
I got tired of feeling sorry for myself.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So instead of trying something that I knew would be easy, I decided to do the exact opposite. I chose to do something that the bully inside of me could have never expected.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I stopped RUNNING from change and I started LOOKING for it.
I stopped IMAGINING change and I started PLANNING for it.
I stopped TALKING about change and I started CREATING it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
➡️ And you know what happened when I did?!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I realized that I was meant for a whole lot more than that stupid bully had ever made me believe, and that the only person who could put boundaries on my own self-worth was ME — and only me.

✨Growth is more space.
✨Growth is more mass.
✨Growth is more strength.
✨Growth is more belief.
✨Growth is more knowledge.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But just because growth has a simple definition doesn’t mean that it’s a simple process.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
For most of us, growth doesn’t happen in a straight line or steer us in one easy direction. Instead, it’s some zigzagging, a step or two backwards, a couple of steps sideways, and lots of circular motions that overlap one another and have a tendency to drive us crazy.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*And the magic is in those crazy moments.*
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
When we fail, we can choose to give up or learn.
When we struggle, we can choose to crumble or cope.
When we misstep, we can choose to go home or go on.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Growth happens when we decide to look setbacks in the face and say, “Not today, sir. I’m going to try again!”
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

If you’ve already made it through TEN DAYS you can absolutely make it through ELEVEN.

Committing to a goal and stepping into a new routine can feel like A LOT to handle at the very beginning. As over-achieving and complex humans, we tend to make big promises to ourselves and rely on our motivational superpowers to see them through.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But we can’t rely on motivation.
We have to rely on discipline. 👊
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*I know that you might be tired.
*Don’t be afraid to slow down.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*I know that you might be sore.
*Don’t be afraid to lift lighter weights.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*I know that you might feel uncomfortable.
*Don’t be afraid to stretch and make adjustments.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you’ve already done something once, you know that you can do it again. Don’t let yourself forget it.

WHICH ONE ARE YOU?! ⏩

Yesterday was the first Monday of the first week of a brand New Year, and I know that a lot of people started a brand new, healthy routine right along with it.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But I also know that as exciting and refreshing as any “Day One” can be, the real test lies in Day Two. And Day Three. And Day Four and Day Five. And all of that days that follow.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
*Because a healthy routine doesn’t show up in one day.*
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It happens when you find the discipline to repeat your shiny, new, healthy activities over and over and over again, so often that they become HABITS rather than chores.

Solutions to your problems won’t always exist.

YOU ARE ALLOWED TO WANT TO BE BETTER THAN YOU ARE.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I've been wanting to say that for a long time now but I haven't really had the guts to put my opinion out there, because I'm admittedly afraid of the opposition. But social media has done this wild thing and somehow (in some spaces) fitness and exercise and muscle movement have become taboo. Like, people want to blame fitness for their problems.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Don't get me wrong -- I know that there is a and a and a that can have a really, really negative effect on people, both physically and mentally.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But let's clear this up. Fitness is not the bad guy!🚨
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Every man and woman around the world who is deciding to pour their effort and energy into building stronger bodies and shaping more defined muscles is not "obsessed" with themselves. People who decide to eat more vegetables and choose fruit over chocolate are not "lame" or "missing out on life".
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The beauty of being individuals is that we are the only people who get to choose how we spend our own time on this planet. We get to decide what activities make us feel our best and what creative outlets light our souls on fire.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
If you want defined abs, go for it.
If you want bigger muscles, good for you.
If you want to be faster or stronger, you can be!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
