Last year I was flying high, running around non-stop being what I considered at the time was productive and successful. I considered myself healthy and thought I was doing all of the right things… eating organic, exercising, sleeping well, limiting alcohol etc.
However, under all of this productivity and constant rushing was anxiety, stress, panic attacks, and poor mental health. I realized I had to make a lifestyle change.
Although it wasn’t easy at first, I decided to walk outside as soon as I woke up at the same time every morning and stop doom scrolling at night before bed. I also started walking every night after dinner watching the sunset and taking time to de-compress from my busy days. In addition, I started meditating every morning after my walk and occasionally painting/water coloring at night after long days which started to become all of my favorite parts of the day.
I learned the hard way that just because you are physically healthy, does not mean you are mentally or emotionally healthy and if that is the case, you can’t be your best self for others. I hope this helps someone today to learn that it is okay to slow down and take care of yourself before things become too chaotic.
Life is a marathon, not a sprint💛
