Club History
The High Plains Drifters Soccer Club was originally started in 1992 as an All-Star program. The founders of the All-Star program felt that a club environment was necessary for those dedicated players who desired a constant, highly competitive atmosphere. The All-Star program became an official soccer club in 1994 with the solid foundation which allows the Club t
o hold the title of the largest, most successful soccer club in the area. The Club began with 3 teams, and by the third year had grown to 16 teams. The High Plains Drifters was the first in this area to have teams play in the highest leagues in Oklahoma and in the Dallas Metroplex. The Drifters were the first club in the area to have teams play in the prestigious Texas Cup, Lake Highlands Invitational, Pikes Peak Invitational, and many other premier showcase tournaments. Many of our players over the years have been on District Teams, Area teams, State Pool Players, and State Team Olympic Development Program participants. Many more former players have moved on to play Collegiate Soccer, make All Conference Teams, All Academic teams. Several have been Panhandle Soccer Players of the Year, as well as graduates with honors. Many other former High Plains Drifters are giving back to the game by coaching both in Amarillo and other parts of the country. Core Values

Play with a Purpose- "Better people make Better players" is a core belief of understanding "WHY" identifies the purpose of playing the sport. Take Accountability- Leaders create Leaders. Shared responsibility means shared ownership. A sense of inclusion unites individuals and collaborations advancing as a team. No Egos- creates strong teams excel at a higher level. character is one key to good opportunities. Embrace Expectations- A culture of expectations enables the asking and re-asking fundamental questions: "How can we get better?" Taking risk and responsibilities are skills you will take from soccer. Find ways to do more by preparation and practice. Be a better person- Not all humans are soccer players, but all players are human. Honesty drives better performance. Believe in yourself and your team, it is key to believing that the development of an authentic self is essential to performance. Create Culture- Rituals reflect, remind, and reinforce the belief system to reignite a collective purpose. Mission
Our mission is to provide a positive competitive soccer atmosphere in the Amarillo area that allows local players not only to develop their athletic skills, but to also develop into outstanding citizens in our communities. We give back to our community by volunteering at several organizations. Participating in the campaign Kids helping kids. Philosophy
The High Plains Drifters Soccer Club understands that soccer is a very competitive sport. Soccer is a game, a game that players, coaches, and parents affiliated with the High Plains Drifters are passionate about. This passion for the game is seen in the number of players that play with our club year after year, all of whom are encouraged to reach their full potential. Positive, experienced coaches are dedicated to teach the techniques and tactics of the game as well as good sportsmanship. These are some of the reasons the High Plains Drifters Soccer Club is the largest, most successful soccer club in the area.
