RAGBRAI L is only a week away from arriving in the Colonies!!! There will be a lot of wonderful things to see and do. Watch for our What's Happening RAGBRAI edition to come out in the next couple days. In the meantime, please note:

Road Closures
Barriers will be placed at the east side of intersections of 220th Trail and Hwy 151, as well as H St and Hwy 151. Barricades will be placed at approximately 10:30 am and taken down after the riders have left town. County officers will be positioned at the intersections from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm. Vehicle traffic will be prohibited during these times.

RAGBRAI Fun @ Festhalle Barn 10:00 am - 3:00 pm
Enjoy a little taste of Oktoberfest with brats, brews, and live music by Barefoot Becky. The Heritage Museum will
have a food booth setup outside of the Festhalle Barn as well.

Emergency Services
Health services will be available at the corner of 220th Trail and 48th St, as well as by the Amana Pharmacy near
220th Trail and 39th Ave.

A big thank you to everyone who participated in BRIC this past weekend!

Join us this weekend for our third Paddle the Iowa! Take your canoes and kayaks and travel down the Iowa River from South Amana to Homestead.

A free shuttle will run from 9am-11am so you can drop off your cars at the exit point. Don't forget to pack a snack and stop along the sandbars on the way. If you don't have a canoe, no worries. River Dock Rental will be offering canoe rentals for the day. Call 319-332-8715 to reserve a canoe ahead of time.

Don't forget a life jacket, they are required to be with you on the river and we highly recommend wearing them for the duration of the paddle.

Please note this is a weather dependent event and we are monitoring the weather and river levels very closely. If canceled for any reason, an announcement will be on our social media pages first. Call the visitors center at (319)-622-7622 for updates and more information.

It’s day three of the Iowa State Fair and a butter cow has appeared in Amana to take part in the Bike Ride of Iowa County (BRIC). This is an annual free bike ride from the Amana Colonies to Marengo and back. Stop at local sites along the way and enjoy the beautiful scenery along the Iowa Valley Scenic Byway

Who's ready to Ride!?!

Have you heard about Bike Ride of Iowa County Yet?

It is this Saturday, August 13th. This fun ride will start at Hotel Millwright and head through the northern part of Iowa county stopping at local businesses along the way eventually returning to Amana and finishing at Millstream Brau Haus.

This is a FREE ride for all ages, no pre registration required! Sign up starts at 9am at Hotel Millwright with the ride officially leaving at 10 am. Be sure to get your passport stamped at all the locations and turn it in at the end of the ride for a chance to win a $100 Amana Colonies Gift Certificate.
