Tupper Martial Arts Academy

Tupper Martial Arts Academy Offering martial arts and fitness classes at the Alvin Rec Center. We also provide enrichment martial arts classes at local area schools and daycare centers.

Tupper Martial Arts Academy was established in 2007 by Sensei Anthony Tupper. Our program is designed to teach real world self-defense for a variety of scenarios. Our programs are designed for children (ages 4-12) and for teens and adults. Each class begins with a life lesson discussing the Bushido (Way of the Warrior) lifestyle and how to live as servant leaders with strong character in the commu

nity. Sensei Anthony Tupper began his martial arts journey in 1998, at 11 years old. He was experiencing trouble with bullies, focusing in school and lacking confidence. His mother enrolled him in Sensei Rick Short’s School of Martial Arts in Pearland; and they both saw immediate results. Over the next 20+ years, Anthony would train in a blend of martial arts that focused on Tae Kwon Do, and has concepts of Aikido, Jiu-Jitsu, Jeet Kune Do, a Russian military hand to hand combat system and a variety of weapons. Anthony advances to Black Belt in 2003, and earned the rank of Master Level Martial Arts Instructor and 4th Degree Black Belt in 2011. In 2020, Sensei Anthony became an International Sports Sciences Association certified personal fitness trainer, and is continuing course work to become certified as a sports nutrition specialist. These certifications allow our program to expand to include personal fitness training, nutrition planning and incorporate a strong fitness and conditioning regimen into our martial arts curriculum.

Last week we concluded the July Martial Arts Camp at Alvin Parks and Recreation Department. This intensive program was 3 hours a day for a whole week, adding up to about a month and a half worth of regular classes. As always lots of fun and games included as well as wrapping up with a yellow belt test and board break for fulltime student Mark Richter.

Congratulations and great work to all who attended!

👀 Ever wonder what a day at K9 Sensei looks like? Our day starts early — dogs are greeted, fed, and ready for their morning training sessions by 7am. Every dog gets individual attention, structured activities, and plenty of love. By evening, they're happily tired and content. 🐾 This is more than a training facility — it's a community where dogs thrive. 📍 Bryan, TX | Book via the link in bio!

🐾 Training Tip Tuesday: Mastering the 'Sit' Command! 'Sit' is the foundation of everything in dog training. Here's how to nail it:

1️⃣ Hold a treat close to your dog's nose.
2️⃣ Slowly raise your hand — their bottom will lower naturally.
3️⃣ The moment they sit, say 'Sit!', reward, and praise.

Practice 5x in a row, 3x per day. Within a week, most dogs have it down solid. 🏆 Tag a friend whose dog needs to master 'sit'!

Supporting Our Community, One Backpack at a Time!

This morning, July 27, 2026, Alvin Parks & Recreation was honored to take part in Alvin ISD's Operation Backpack, helping deliver 94 backpacks filled with school supplies to local students in need.

We are proud to partner with our community to help students start the new school year with the tools they need to succeed. Seeing the excitement on their faces is a reminder of what makes Alvin such a special place to live, work, and play.

A big thank you to Alvin ISD and everyone who helped make Operation Backpack possible. Together, we're making a difference—one student, one backpack, and one act of kindness at a time. ❤️📚
