I don’t rush my young fighters into learning every punch. The hook is one of the more difficult punches for beginners because it requires proper angle, rotation, balance, and coordination—all while keeping the chin tucked and opposite hand protecting the face.

Before I worry about Anthony throwing hooks fast or hard, I want him balanced, technically sound, and defensively responsible when he throws them.

Slow it down. Build the foundation. Then add the speed and power. 🧠🥊

We’re not rushing the process—we’re building a boxer.

This is what development looks like. 🥊

My experienced amateur fighter DJ working light, controlled sparring drills with my newest beginner, Wayne. Two teenage boys from the same neighborhood, at different stages of their boxing journey, pushing each other to get better.

One gaining experience. One sharing it. Both growing. Iron sharpens iron. 🥊💯

No gym? No excuses. 💪🏾🥊

Sometimes the best conditioning happens right in the neighborhood. All you need is some open space, a plan, and the willingness to WORK.

The grind doesn’t need a building—just discipline. 🔥

Neighbor hood training on a Sunday afternoon with 16 year old Vic……ambitions to compete in USA Amateur boxing, stay tuned 👀🥊

My young 7 year old fighter Jahyden still has another year before he’s eligible to compete in USA Amateur Boxing, but the potential is already showing. 🥊🔥

Right now, it’s about development—learning to stay composed, trust his skills, and get comfortable sparring outside of his own gym against different styles and competition.

Big respect to the coaches and young fighters who understand that good sparring isn’t about proving who’s tougher—it’s about sportsmanship, learning, and helping each other grow in the art and science of boxing.

His time is coming. Until then, we keep building. 🧠🥊💯

Lesson 2 is a wrap! 🥊⚾️

It doesn’t take me long to recognize a pure athlete, and 15 year old Wayne is definitely a natural.

It’s baseball offseason, so he decided to add boxing to his training to improve his footwork, coordination, conditioning, and overall athleticism. Only two lessons in and he’s picking things up fast—who knows, we may eventually see him step into the amateur boxing ring! 👀🥊

Keep working, Wayne. We’re just getting started! 💪🏾
