We have been a bit quiet because we have been waiting on THINGS...all the THINGS...one exciting element we have been finalizing is EQUIPMENT, and the equipment has led to a MINOR change for QUESTPLEX...although I LOVE purple and GOLD... we are pivoting to RED and PURPLE, and I like it even MORE!!!!! Updates and exciting announcements coming soon!

💜 EVERY CHILD DESERVES A PLACE TO PLAY. 💛

As we've shared our vision for QuestPlex, one question has come up again and again:

"Will there be opportunities for children with special needs?"

The answer is a wholehearted...

Yes.

From the very beginning, we've believed that every child deserves the chance to play, explore, learn, and feel like they belong.

That means creating an environment where families of children with autism, sensory sensitivities, physical disabilities, and other unique needs feel welcome—not as an afterthought, but as part of who we are.

We're planning programs and experiences designed to meet children where they are, including:

💜 Adaptive ninja classes
💛 Sensory-friendly play opportunities
💜 Inclusive activities that encourage success at every ability level
💛 A welcoming environment where differences are celebrated
💜 A SoftPlay structure specifically designed and built for wheelchair access with appropriate obstacles and challenges
💛 Staff members will complete a basic sign-language course

As an educator, I've spent my career working with students who learn in different ways and overcome different challenges. One thing I've learned is that every child shines when they're given the opportunity to succeed.

That's the kind of place we want QuestPlex to be.

A place where victories are measured in smiles.
Where progress matters more than perfection.
Where every family feels they belong.
Because confidence isn't reserved for a few.
It's something every child deserves to discover.

--I LOVE LOVE LOVE QuestPlex, too. This project is a labor of LOVE, and I have a NINJA kid who LOVES this type of play.

⭐I love the vibe (the ambiance), love the colors (maybe that's the Alumni Johnston Dragon & current SEP mama in me 😉🥰).

--DITTO!!!! 🤩😍🤩😍I love the purples and teals and pinks and yellows and blacks, and it just goes with everything!! It does not scream just for girls OR boys! All kids can have fun in this space!

⭐I love love love the factor this is in Altoona🎺🥳!

--YES YES YES!!!!! 🙌🙌🙌🙌 Altoona is almost all NEW construction… and new construction costs MILLIONS!!!! Having a space at the Outlet Mall has been my dream and plan for 6 YEARS!!!!!

⭐Love the bar seats to view & enjoy watching the lil' kiddos guests bring in!

--AND for parents who want to watch AND get a little work done… the counters will be equipped with all the things you need to multitask, study for school, get some emails answered, work on that next project, doom scroll... 😊

⭐Love the discovery zone meets Ninja warrior entertainment!

--I have a tweenager, and those kids NEED a place to hang out, be safe, gain confidence, be social, and just have FUN…but I have also struggled to find a place CLOSE by to take the littles! So now we get to check THREE boxes… toddlers, kids, tweens, teens, and adults, too… what can I say – I guess that is FIVE boxes… I was never good at mathing… I have a Masters in English 🤣

🤞🏼Please don't price higher than nearby competition aka Urban Air/ Kids Empire/ Ninja U.

--Absolutely NOT! Our play all day price is $18.95 for ages 5 to 17. (Parents play free 😉 with a kid admission). Toddlers… 1 to 4 are $9.95.

How will admission fees go? (💭 I like the pay for a daily ticket & you can come & go for the day like Kids Empire charges (🤷🏼‍♀️ not sure if owner gets to make those decisions).

--You can come and go all day…I am not going to micromanage play time! Who needs THAT kind of extra stress. 🙌👌😉

⭐I like how it's close to shopping so maybe the kids & older siblings can hang out while moms get the much needed shopping therapy. (Haha; I ain't wrong 🤭🤷🏼‍♀️🥰).

--Stay tuned! Did I hear DROP and SHOP?!?!?! 😍 Oh yeah! We are working through particulars for this opportunity…all kinds of laws and regulations to keep track of! 😵‍💫But we are ON IT! 😁

📍 WHY ALTOONA? 📍

We've been asked this question quite a bit:

**"Why did you choose Altoona for QuestPlex?"**

The answer is actually pretty simple.

We didn't just want to open a business.

We wanted to BE in a community that NEEDS a place like QuestPlex for their kids when it is really hot or really cold or just someplace CLOSER to take kids to get their wiggles out!

The TRUTH -- we have been trying to launch this place since 2019, and then COVID hit, and then Altoona did not have anywhere available to build this dream! Fast forward to March of 2026, and the perfect space is available right next to 5Below! Now kids can get their squishies and head over to the QuestPlex!

When the opportunity came to bring QuestPlex to the Outlets of Des Moines, it just made sense.

Imagine making a day of it...

💜 TRAIN LIKE A GIRL 💜

Let's clear something up...

QuestPlex isn't just for boys.

In fact, some of the strongest, toughest, most determined athletes I've ever met have been girls.

Ninja training isn't about being the biggest.

It's about confidence.

It's about courage.

It's about trying something that looks impossible and refusing to give up.

Whether it's climbing a wall, conquering an obstacle, mastering a new skill, or simply believing in themselves, every child deserves the chance to discover what they're capable of.

At QuestPlex, girls won't just be welcome—they'll be encouraged to lead, compete, challenge themselves, and become role models for the next generation of young adventurers.

Because "train like a girl" isn't an insult.

It's a compliment.

It means showing up.

Working hard.

Being fearless.

And proving that strength comes in many forms.

📜 CAN I TELL YOU A LITTLE SECRET ABOUT QUESTPLEX?!?!?!? 📜

You may have noticed we didn't call it NinjaPlex.

Or PlayPlex.

Or JumpPlex.

We called it **QuestPlex** for a reason.

As a teacher, writer, and lifelong storyteller, I've always believed that adventures are more fun when there's a story behind them.

So here's something I'm excited about...

We are ALREADY creating and developing ideas for monthly Quests for our young adventurers. Physical quests, mental quests, BIRTHDAY quests, just for FUN quests...my creative brain is on FIRE to start sharing these adventures with KIDS!!!!!

Imagine arriving at QuestPlex and discovering:

🐉 A dragon has stolen the Kingdom's treasure.
🗺️ A mysterious map has appeared.
⚔️ The Ninja Masters need new recruits.
🌟 A secret challenge has been hidden somewhere in the facility.

Kids could complete obstacles, solve clues, earn badges, unlock achievements, and become part of an ongoing QuestPlex story.

Every visit could be a new adventure.

Every month could bring a new mission.

Because while kids love to climb, jump, and play...

They LOVE becoming the hero of the story.

We're still dreaming up ideas, but I'd love your feedback.
