The Watershed in Edwardsville did not disappoint for our first group hike. It was a perfect day 🌞
There was deer 🦌, turtles 🐢, beautiful birds of all kinds 🐦, brightly colored flowers 💐.
It's an easy family hike 🌞
Looking forward to the next one.

When we are feeling out lowest, remember why you stay active and who is looking up to you. Doing the bare minimum is good enough on those tough days.

These are text from a client who is having a rough time with some leg pains. Her daughter gave her the motivation she needed to get to the gym.
We changed her exercises around to accommodate what she could do. She ended up having a great workout with her daughter.

Spring weather is right around the corner. Shake off the winter blues and get outside while you can.
If you need more motivation to find the time, here they are 😁
🦴Weight-bearing activities involved in gardening help build muscle strength and improve bone density, which is particularly beneficial for balance and preventing conditions like osteoporosis.
🌞Increased Vitamin D Production Exposure to sunlight while outdoors allows the body to naturally produce vitamin D, which is essential for immune function and strong bones.
🌿Spending time in nature and away from screens has been shown to significantly reduce stress and anxiety levels. It lowers stress-related hormones like cortisol and adrenaline, promoting relaxation and mental calm.
Get outside and enjoy these warm days

Wellness is about more than just working out, sometimes it requires sitting on the floor with a cat!

Gym pets are known to help lower stress levels, lower levels of depression, anxiety, and loneliness.
Having a pet at the gym is also a great icebreaker in room full of strangers. Pets are such amazing companions 💜

☃️While being snowed in this weekend, take some time to relax and enjoy a hot chocolate.
Don't feel guilty for enjoying these, here's why you need them for a balanced life...
😌It's important to relax because it lowers stress, improves mental health (mood, focus, anxiety), boosts physical well-being (heart health, immunity, digestion, better sleep), and increases productivity by giving your body and mind time to recover, reducing muscle tension, and lowering heart rate and blood pressure.
☕️Hot chocolate🍫, particularly when made with high-quality, dark cocoa powder, offers significant health benefits due to its high concentration of flavanols and antioxidants. Key benefits include improved cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure and reducing LDL cholesterol, enhanced brain function and memory, reduced stress levels, and improved mood.
🤔Change is up by adding Cinnamon🪾 to your hot chocolate. Adding cinnamon to hot chocolate enhances both flavor and health by boosting antioxidant capacity by 28-35%, regulating blood sugar, and reducing inflammation. This aromatic, low-calorie addition helps improve insulin sensitivity, supports heart health, and provides a comforting, nutrient-dense treat that pairs perfectly with dark chocolate.

Enjoy the snow ❄️
