Engine Assembly is ready for the Yukon build. Did the engine need replacing in the Yukon….No. Did we have some parts lying around to build one….yes.

So what’s done? It’s an LQ4 cast block. With Mahle pistons and Lunati rods. We bored 30 over cause why not. Custom ported heads.

Can’t forget the camshaft. We went with the TSP Chopacabra cam specs. (Should be fun). Running TBSS intake and 90mm TB. Both Ported. Excited to get this build finally underway.

Stay tuned!

Spent some time to reflect on the Racing for ALS DR6. We're very happy to be a part of this racing organization. Not only for its foundational purposes but also for its people. So, we wanted to take a moment to thank everyone that helped put this event together.

Also, special shout out to Mud Lake Soap Shop for making soaps for this event. It was a huge hit, and we thank you for the quick turnaround for over 100 soaps.

We would also like to thank Tradd's Photos for the on-track shots!

As for the Cadillac ATS-V it did great! Especially for being setup for the street. More to come for the car later this year.

Hey everyone!

I'm excited to announce that I will be back at VIR (Virginia International Raceway) for Dave's Race 6! This event is hosted by Racing for ALS on September 28th-29th.

This is a 100% charitable driving event with all proceeds going to ALS TDI for ALS research and finding a cure for ALS! I am honored to be given this opportunity to raise money for a great cause.

We run in memory of Dave to continue the fight he started to help other ALS patients!!

So what’s the plan?

We have a 6.0 (LQ4) bare block. Going to take it to the local machine shop and bore 0.030 over from stock. Essentially making this a 6.1L (370ci)

I still need to order pistons and rods. More on that to come. Still figuring out what rod length I’m going with. Goal here is durability.

This is going to get a mild truck cam and will be paired with a set of 706 GM (5.3) cylinder heads. These typically have a smaller combustion area than the stock heads. 75cc vs 61.5cc. Heads were custom ported and installed bigger intake valves. Overall it’s sitting at a 65cc area.

I have plans to a use different intake manifold setup and injectors. It’s going to be a rowdy but very durable build. This will be my first total engine build. I hope to share everything I learn from this build and hopefully it can help your next project.
