Yesterday (Saturday the 15th) was a beautiful, though chilly, morning to get my first breakfast run in 72740 in. A 6:30am departure had me on my way (grateful for the preheat kit installed on this one...) for the nearly two-hour flight over to Sky Acres (44N) airport in New York to meet up with several pilot friends for breakfast at Hangar's Cafe on the airport. This is a great, and fairly popular, fly-in restaurant and the pattern was busy on arrival.
The usual great conversation and stories swapped at breakfast and we were heading back out, going our separate ways back to our various airports. I hung around for a few minutes as another friend was coming in with his son in his Cessna 170 - too late for breakfast with us, but still got up and out for a flight on this clear and calm day.
After a quick chat with Pete, I saddled up and headed out. Not wanting to waste the great weather, I decided to hit a couple of other airports on the way home. My first stop was at Mt. Tobe Airfield (N41) in Plymouth, CT for a photo in front of the hangar there. My buddy Nick (who had been at the breakfast as well) also popped in for a quick photo, and then we headed back out. Nick headed home and I headed on to Goodspeed Airport (42B) for a photo of the 140 in front of the cool little terminal building there as well. From there, I headed back to Taunton to cap off a great day of flying. Loving this 140!
