What it is:
Our experimentation and exploration towards healthier, more sustainable ways to live a spirited, adventurous life. Our journey into a system of obtaining food where all life is respected. Why the name:
There once lived two good friends, the peacock and the crow. One day, the crow found paint in the woods--every color of the rainbow. "Oh, let's paint each other and make each other beau
tiful!" said peacock. The crow cared deeply for his friend and wanted him to be pleased with his work, and so he took his time, creating beautiful, colorful designs he knew peacock would enjoy. The peacock grew fidgety but the crow assured him the masterpiece would be worth the wait. When the crow finished, the peacock moved to the pond to admire the crow's work. "Oh my, I'm BEAUTIFUL!" the peacock exclaimed. "I'm glad you approve. Will you paint me now?" asked the crow. But the peacock was too busy admiring himself. After a long while, crow politely asked again. In an effort to get back to admiring himself as quickly as possible, the peacock simply dumped the black paint on the crow and returned to the pond. The crow was so heartbroken, all he could do was let out a cackling cry. But when all the other animals saw peacock, crow was revered and loved for his magnificent artwork. "So clever is that crow!" they cheered. And so the peacock was shamed for his selfishness and forever associated with unnecessary opulence, while the crow would be admired for his cleverness and talent, for the rest of time. Crows are intelligent, adaptable, and generally underestimated. They are perfectly fine on their own but are very social, sometimes forming flocks in the thousands. They are inquisitive, sometimes mischievous, quick learners, and great problem-solvers. Theyβre also fearless; crows have been known to chase away larger birds including hawks and owls! Lastly, birds and flight in general symbolize freedom / free-spiritedness. We feel we are a bit rebellious and mischievous, often running to the woods for a weekend to recapture some bit of wildness our modern culture suppresses. We admire strong wit and wisdom, and our endless curiosity aspires to turn into a wisdom of its own. We can be a bit dark or cynical at times. We are The Clever Crow!
