Head of the Fish! Three races—a mixed quad, women’s double, and mixed eight— all done on a gorgeous Saturday. We ended the regatta by welcoming three new rowers to the eight’s lineup, making the final race a great way to wrap up our racing season.

The Mohawk was a tad feisty tonight but our two quads still enjoyed our session!

You know you’re in a Masters rowing club...
..when practice is done but blades need priming, and a dock needs rebuilding. Despite the heat, everyone pitched in and we made solid progress. (Special shout-out to our two new scullers for jumping in with great attitudes).

You know you're in a masters club when the post-practice discussion shifts seamlessly from the 'nuance of the straight arm drill' to the 'structural integrity of marine-grade epoxy'...

July 4th — There’s something special about getting an early start on the water before the holiday’s festivities. After practice, we wrapped up the morning by taking part in what’s becoming a Burnt Hills Masters tradition: participating in the Alplaus July 4th Parade! Thanks, Fred for arranging our float and thanks, Coach Sean, for another great practice!

…a fun bonus was spotting Coach John and his wife, Aimee, out fishing.

A great day for the BHRA Masters at Rockland State Park!

The Rockland Masters Regatta are made up of 1,000-meter sprints from stake docks, and BHRA, under the guidance of Coach Sean, had an outstanding showing!

🏅 Results:

* Tarrin placed 4th in his first ever single race.
* Tarrin & Sean raced to a 2nd-place finish in the double.
* Art & Cindy won 1st in their age group in the mixed double.
* Amy & Cindy captured 1st in their age group in the women’s double.
* Our women’s quad featured Donna’s first-ever sprint race in the bow seat and Eileen’s debut in Seat 2—well done to both! Mom Cindy G and daughter Alyssa were seated 4-3 bringing home gold.
* We wrapped up the day with a 1st-place finish in the mixed quad, with Fred making the trip down just for the one race!

A special shout-out to Iron Woman, Cindy V., who didn’t just row with BHRA—she also competed twice with Saratoga in their 8+ and quad!

A big thank you to Wendy who was everywhere we needed her to be, fetching oars, finding slings, rigging boats…we know you wanted to be on the water, but you definitely got your steps in today !!

The weather kept us a tad soggy with light to moderate rain throughout the day, but the water was beautifully flat with virtually no wind—great conditions for racing.

Congratulations to everyone who competed and represented BHRA so well! 🚣🏅
