What motivates you to stay consistent with weight training while balancing motherhood?
- I have to take care of myself so I can take better care of others. If I wasn’t strong and healthy, I wouldn’t be able to run and play and keep up with my kids, or care for my family members that needed extra help. I want to live and long and healthy life. Not only for me, but for my family.
How do you structure your workout routine to fit into your busy schedule?
- If I have an hour, I’ll do my full workout. If I have 30 minutes, I superset most everything to get as much out of every minute I have. You don’t always have to give it 100%, but the more consistent you are, the better.
Have you found any specific exercises or training styles that work best for your body postpartum?
- When I first got back into things after I had my last baby, I focused a lot on rebuilding my core. Now that some time has passed, I do a lot of compound lifting to keep those muscles strong and activated with almost every day that I train.
How do you manage recovery and rest days while still keeping up with mom duties?
- Rest days are usually full of laundry and extra cooking for the week, but I still try to get in my steps, drink enough water, and eat my marcos. It’s hard with three little ones, but I just do my very best everyday.
What’s your go-to pre or post-workout meal/snack?
- I love my protein shakes! It’s the only way I can get all my protein in during the day. They’re fast, easy, and filling.
