Tip: Better Than a New Year's Resolution
Whatever changes you need to make to meet your health and fitness goals should be repeated for 40 days. Neurological studies have shown that repeating a behavior for 40 days will change the neural pathways and create a new pattern or habit.
You may have longer term goals than you can completely accomplish in this amount of time, so break up your main goal into smaller ones, starting with the challenge to stick with them for 40 days, about 6 weeks. Achieve this, and the routine will become much easier.
