The primary purpose of Michigan United Basketball, through its travel teams, is to teach the fundamentals of basketball to boys/girls of all ages who aspire to become better players. We want to give players a vehicle to compete against good competition and to recognize what they need to improve on to reach their goals as a basketball player. Our organization focuses on individual skill development

, improving each player's understanding of offensive and defensive concepts, while stressing the team first! Michigan United Basketball will take pride in creating a positive environment for its athletes, parents and coaches.

Boys 7th & 8th Grade - CHECK-IN 2:30 - 3p / TRYOUT 3 - 5p

We'll see you soon at Fulton High School. Please enter from the outside gym door on the south side of the building. There will be a check-in table set up inside where players will receive their tryout number.

Coach Koutz brings impressive coaching experience for a young coach, having worked across multiple levels and even multiple sports. His versatility, energy, and commitment to developing athletes make him a perfect fit for our program and our JV girls squad.

Over the past year, Coach Rod stepped into the Boys Varsity role at Lakeview, gaining invaluable high‑level coaching experience and sharpening the competitive edge he brings to our program.

We’re excited to welcome back Coach Matt Koutz, one of the original leaders who helped shape Michigan United from the very beginning. His experience, steady leadership, and commitment to our athletes have always set the tone for what this program stands for.

Coach Koutz will be taking the helm of our Girls Varsity team, bringing a competitive edge and a passion for developing players on and off the court.
