Freshman Cayden Bell is weighed in and ready to go at the NCAA Division III National Championships in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

Competition begins at 10 AM CT.

Congratulations to Freshman Heavyweight Cayden Bell on qualifying for the 2026 NCAA National Tournament. Cayden placed 2nd at the regional after being seeded 6th. Cayden won his quarterfinal and semifinal match in Ultimate Tiebreaker Overtime.
Freshman Dom Gumtow placed 6th on the weekend. Dom lost a tough match 6-3 in the semifinals against the returning national runner up.
Junior Luke Martin placed 8th on the weekend. Luke beat a conference opponent by major decision and followed that up with a fall over a seeded wrestler to secure his spot in the top 8.
The 2026 NCAA DIII Wrestling National Championships will take place March 13-14 in Cedar Rapids Iowa.

Congrats to Dom Gumtow on winning 1st All-MIAA Honors. Dom was 4-0 in conference duals with 2 technical falls, a fall and a decision.

Undefeated at 141 lbs in conference duals ➡️ All-MIAA Status

Congrats to freshman Dominic Gumtow on receiving All-MIAA honors for his rookie campaign in conference action, the first Scot since 2022!

Be sure to purchase your beef raffle tickets. Two winners each receive 1/4 of fully processed beef to be picked up at Bellingers packing in St. John’s. You can purchase a ticket from Alma College Wrestlers, at the Bruce Dickey Open or by emailing coach Groeneveld at [email protected]. Tickets are $20.00 each.

The Scots competed at the Berg Holiday Duals at Heidelberg University. The Scots would finish 1-2 on the day with a win over Mount St. Joseph University. Nate Stark was 2-1 on the day in his first competition. JJ Ferrell, Dom Gumtow and Luke Martin all finished the day 3-0. Ferrell had bonus points in all of his matches. Gumtow had 3 wins by fall and Luke Martin had 2 wins by fall.

Alma College Men’s Wrestling wrapped up 3 duals at the Comet Duals. The Scots went 1-2 on the day, with a strong victory over Heidelburg. The Scots look forward to a good week of practice. Go Scots!

Scots of the Week: Carter Melonio (MWR) and Rudy Maynard (VB).

Carter finished the Ben McMullen Open with a perfect 4-0 record to finish first place in the 165lb division with all wins coming by fall!

Rudy led the Scots with 16 assists and added another five digs against nationally ranked Hope College last week!
