Mason city recap

Heat 6th-7th
Feature 13th-13th

It was pretty much a one lane track around the top as the whole track surface was pure rubber.

Definitely made a good last night for the year, was able to keep the car straight all night and had some fun running up on the wall.

It’s race week!!

We’re headed to mason city on Sunday for the final time this year.

This will be our last time on the track running as a hobby stock. Only other time we’ll be out might be October 4th in Tipton racing outlaw cruiser

Chateau results

Heat 4th->6th
Feature 16th->17th (DNF)

They didn’t run hot laps and we were the first heat race to hit the track so it was a mud fest. Did a lot of slipping and sliding but managed to keep it straight.

Feature was survival of the fittest in the back of the pack. Bottom was sloppy, middle was halfway dry slick and top was hooked up in spots and dry slick in others

With that being said car handled great for the first half of the feature but after awhile the shocks got hot and started handling worse and worse. Going to move the body around on the car and try to transfer some weight around and race maybe 1-2 times more until we can get a decent set of new shocks. New shocks aren’t cheap so we very well could be done for the year to save up this winter. Plans this winter are to put a new body and wrap on the car and get some shocks.

It’s race week! Headed to Chateau Speedway this Friday July 24th

Had some decent speed there with the old motor last night so hopefully as long as we can keep power to the ground we’ll be even faster.

Webster didn’t go as well as we thought, spun in the heat after going around a few cars and getting up to 2nd but excitement got the best of me going into turn 3. Feature was a disaster. Spun myself out 3 separate time just struggling to find moisture. Finally found it in the last 2 laps but was too late and never got a caution.

It’s been a long break with the weather last week but we have changed gear and are off to Webster City for the first time on Saturday.

It’s a completely different track than we’re used to being a 1/2 mile opposed to our normal 3/8 tracks.

We were going to try west union last Friday but the weather had different plans for us so it’s been a good little break but the car is ready to go for this weekend.

Mason City recap

Heat 7th -> 5th
Feature 9th -> 11th

Heat race was decent had to relearn the track but found a groove and kept up for the most part. Feature was the best the cars felt at Mason city. Felt super comfortable running the bottom and was keeping right up and holding off a few of the fast guys.

We will definitely be going back to mason city yet this year possibly in a few weeks.

Over all the weekend was definitely one to remember and the car felt fast all weekend.

Haven’t decided where we’re going next or when but it will be post when and where we go next.

Decorah recap and Mason city start time

Decorah
Heat 3rd -> 6th
Feature 14th -> 10th

Thought we had a decent setup for the heat but was wayy off. Changed a few things for the feature and got it handling way better.

For a dry slick track we made some decent moves and was able to move up and pick up a few spots for a top 10 finish. I’ll take it for the luck we’ve been having we’re finally moving in the right direction.

We’re headed to Mason City yet this weekend this will be our first time there this year besides for practice. Will be another night to get more seat time and learn the car.

Well after a few weeks of maintenance and checking everything over with a few new parts we are finally ready to head to Decorah tonight.

Pretty late notice as Decorah was going to have a SLM special with stock cars and Bmods but have postponed the SLM show and are having a normal weekly night

Over all goal for the night is to finish the night and get more seat time
