Over my forty plus years of life I have three dogs that have made a huge impact on me and will never be forgotten. Growing up at the age of 16 it was this pound puppy named Rossi that I adopted. She was a lab mix and as loyal as they come. She was my hunting partner, bringing back birds double her size. I can still see memories of our days together in my mind. In my adult life it has been Pistol Pete the best cattle dog around! I can't begin to tell you how many times he has saved my bacon. When it comes to rounding up and moving the cattle he does the work of two hands. Not to mention he is a heck of a prairie dog killer. Pete's eleven now and seems to be slowing down, completely def he works solely off of hand signals. I admire his heart not a day passes where he's not ready to load up and go. As for my beautiful lab Daisy, let's just say she's perfect in every way! An absolute natural talent, watching her in action doing her thing is awesome. Some of the retrieves this dog has made throughout her days have been mind-blowing, she is an absolute beast on the river. The thing that gets me is these dogs all do what they do because they love it not realizing how helpful it is for their humans. To have this bond with not one, two, but three dogs over my lifetime is nothing short of a blessing. Long live the true and genuine love of a good dog! Thanks Eddie your pictures always have a way at tugging at the ol' heart.

These two entered my life through our shared passions. Where hunting waterfowl is a season, these friendships made are for life. I wouldn't trade the times and laughter for nothing!

The North Platte River never disappoints. What a great time with some great friends. About 6 or 7 years ago my good friend invited me to go hunt with him in Nebraska on the famed North Platte River. I instantly fell in love with this beautiful place. On that trip I met .childers.65.jc ,the owner of . Jimmy is one of my favorite people in the world, and we were instant friends. Since then I have been back every year to hunt with Jimmy. Over the years we have filmed an episode of as well as TV. Each season I travel all over North America to some incredible places, but The North Platte River is definitely towards the top of my list of favorite places. This past weekend, on the final day, it ended up being just the 3 of us back on the river where it all began picking out green. What a perfect way to end the trip.
